regarding punctuation in layzner, getter robo, great mazinger. it seems weird to me ending speech with a period in general, but especially if they're not done talking or are interrupted.

thanks,
sasword

I find ending subtitles in a full stop to be distracting. I used to go through the Lupin scripts and remove all of the ones at the ends of lines in Layzner.

Mildly related, am I the only girl here that isn't sasword's gf?

there's chirlind and denkounova at least too, probably more. i think i like not usually ending them also because that's one less character to prevent it from being a 3-line (which i don't believe in) sub

I prefer periods. Not only is it easier to recognize separate lines, it also gives a signal when you don't use them: people will know the sentence hasn't ended yet. Useful for longer stuff.

Also, my buddy Denkou turns out to be a woman? I'm so confused.

Denkou's t-l abilities are sexy, and i am straight, so Denkou must be a woman!

Well, I think it would be a pretty exciting plot-twist.

Funny situation. Do I handle this the funny way or the serious way? XD

No, I'm a guy, but I guess you can still say I'm a girl for the lulz. And fap to my scripts, if you like.

I prefer periods myself. They'll write periods in official subtitles, comic books, or in conversations in novels. It's what I grew up with, so now no periods look like words that don't really form a sentence with any emotion to me, like random notes scribbled in a paper. Maybe it's not the case with periods in you guys' mother tongue?

exception: Rey in Layzner doesn't feel like she's ending any sentences, and computer interfaces back then seldom used periods, so not having periods there would be nice with a old-computer-ish-font. (don't remember the font you use)

-Rey, switch to ground radar!

i'll still pretend you're a girl if that's cool. and thanks for the perspective. periods look weird to me in most cases in subs, but i don't really notice them one way or the other (which makes qc'ing looking for punctuation hard). but it looks like getter15 will have more punctuation, and i think the font is Lucida Console

as to layzner, star hates periods so we'll see
