I don't know, since I have never seen Zambot, but I read Daitarn is a spiritual sequel to Zambot, only lighter and softer. Thinking about it, I can give you a pretty accurate summary of Daitarn: James Bond in a giant robot fights evil cyborgs from Mars. (Oh, and the mkv has finished uploading. Download away.) |

Zambot 3 is depressing and the depression hits you like a brick in the face at times. It also manages to somehow be camp and suicide inducing at once. I dunno about Daitarn, I'm just keeping up to date with mscience's subs. But from what I've heard it's not as overly depressing as Zambot (I don't think anything can beat Zambot for depressing, at least Ideon has a sorta happy ending) |

Daitarn is mostly light-hearted fun, but it does have some depressing moments. Case in point, episode 19 (this is a bit of a spoiler, highlight to read): Meganoid society is really militaristic, so people who actually care about each other are looked down upon. In episode 19, a Commander and his two best pals (normal foot soliders), who care about each other, hatch a plan to conquer Earth, all the while thinking "Finally we'll show the other Meganoids what we're made of!". The two soliders are shot dead by Banjo, the Commander turns into a Megaborg and duels to the death with the Daitarn, all the while shedding manly tears for his fallen comrades. Banjo recognizes their worth, and buries them side by side. SPOILERS END HERE. It's sort of like Turn A Gundam. Happy, but has some dark moments ("I don't think those are anything but arms anymore" ring any bells?). |

You know I could always help when it comes to timing. Hell, anything but actual translating. And maybe Ryvius as well, which probably would be a better choice since he have a better connection than my fuckslowandunstable connection. But yeah, if you need help just post here and we should gladly help. |

Thanks a lot, that will really help. In a day or two I'll post the subs to be timed, which will need to be timed to this RAW file. |

Here you go: Daitarn 3 ep 08 subs, to be timed. They're already sort-of timed, since they're ripped from the DVD, but: 1- they're off by some 30 minutes (that's easily fixed) 2- they're slower than the RAW, so they must be timed to match precisely with the characters' lines. If any of you can do this, you'll have my eternal gratitude. And a place in the subbing credits, as well

30 minutes, did you mean "seconds"? ... lol.Well, I think I could potentially help out. Thing is, I think it'd be weird just jumping in and helping with that episode... so I'd like to catch up on the series, but I'm watching so many shows right now with so little time, who knows when that'll be... However if "all" the subs are just off by a bit, you can use Aegisub to "shift" all or any amount of selected lines at once (by however much you want). Reading your first point, I'm guessing you might know that already, but just throwing it out there? Oh and I really like the release tracker page on your blog, nice. |

No, he said minutes. I figure it must be something like two episodes pack similar to the layzner subs i fixed. And no, just shifting times don't seem to work so i have to fix it line by line. Also, i took some liberty of editing the translation for some lines (notably the preview to make it a little bit accurate), but it shouldn't be too noticeable. tl;dr http://rapidshare.com/files/213617188/Daitarn_ep_8.ass There you go, it's done. Now i shall go back working on Kuuga. |
