So uh, the script for 11 might be delayed for a day or two. I have exam tomorrow and I've yet to study anything thanks to other assignments :(

Got a 404 Mason.

I think the Michael may have rebuilt the links as he was adding the RSS feature, thereby breaking the one I posted.

Here's the article on his scopedog build (I hope this works): http://fichtenfoo.net/blog/in-progress-»-d...t-use-scopedog/

Also, here's my 1:144 scale open-cockpit Heavy Gear miniature: http://coolminiornot.com/172113

Uh, while you might see me already done with my share of this week's Kuuga, unfortunately the same cannot be said about Mellowlink. Honestly, i totally forgot until just now.

I'll try to make up for this by releasing the script for the final two episodes on sunday. Sorry yet again :(

Yeah if you could do that by Sunday that'd be great, I'd just do another double release then we'll be done.

Wow. I find this out about two weeks after getting our JLPT1 and someone who worked on the US releases of Votoms proper to agree to work on this and find out...it's already going up.

Cool, I can take it off the a-c site and pass our translator this stack of Anpanman movies that I've got sitting around.

c'mon!!!!

why not make your own version???
as far as I know there are almost 5 fansubs working on bleach, naruto, haruhis and all that idiotic garbage that todays kids call "anime", why not have 5 fansubs working in their own version of old mecha series??? it's not like saying "hey this version is better" the users can decide which is better, but I think that having choices is bets for all of us...
or better yet, why not hurry the Shining Heresy project??? everybody is waiting for it...

Heh, cool to see you hear exedore. If you've watched any of the Mellowlink releases, what do you think?

But UKAnon and I can't take any real credit for the translation, this was just one of our "Fix old translations / transfer them to better videos" idea's, so UKAnon's basically been watching those old Lupin Gang VHS rips, doing the new script and timing, then sends them over to me for editing/encoding and all that. The raws I got honestly aren't the best, you have a lot of experience with this stuff so you'll probably notice the rips have interlacing issues at times... buuut, it's the best I found and it really is like a whole new world compared to the VHS releases, lol.

If I ever find better raws someday I wouldn't mind doing a v2 release or whatever.

Trying to combine things...

I am generally of the opinion that duplicating effort is meaningless. The number of people who are actually willing to put the time, effort, and energy into subbing older anime is TINY by comparison and it's better to spread work over multiple titles than just one. As it stands, I've put it to the people who actually visit the #a-c website: they're the ones who care about what we put out, and if there's an overwhelming push then we'll do it. It's not like I haven't had the DVDs sitting on a spindle waiting to be subbed for ages...

Because none of our translators want to do Shining Heresy. It's dialogue heavy (far more than Mellowlink or the other OVAs), more complicated, and requires a serious knowledge of VOTOMS (vs. Mellowlink where it helps but is unnecessary). In theory we're supposed to be co-proing with Shinsen, I've just been too lazy to mail them copies of the DVDs to rip.

And tbh, the fastest way to ensure that we (and most fansubbers) push a project to the BOTTOM of the queue is to say "Why isn't this done yet we're all waiting?" If you want something to come out faster, do some legwork and help us find a translator who both likes oldskool and is capable of turning over a script in less than three months. Maybe then you'll get your decent subs of CF Saga, F, Yaiba, etc. in decent time. Otherwise, we've all got lives and hobbies outside of fansubbing which take priority.

I think your raws are garbage - they're not even properly deinterlaced/IVTC. Mind you, the DVDs for Mellow are *shite* by comparison to most R2's as VAP don't appear to have film prints for any of their Sunrise titles so it went out unremastered like all of Cyber Formula. The ghosting...not much can be done about that.

Otherwise, I've leeched episode one. If the votes are to preserve our work, all I care about is resynching the scripts so I can post ISO's to ADC...

I've had the R2's for ages and just ripped them to the hard drive tonight to prep for 1-6 coming back from editing on our end (or to shamelessly swipe your edition - again, depends on what people who watch and most importantly people who actually contribute think). FWIW, our scripts for eps 1-6 are sourced by Bertmann, who also did Big Battle/Last Red Shoulder/Roots of Ambition and is a native bilingual. Those are currently in the hands of one of the top VOTOMS experts in the US. Eps 7-12 we clearly wasted a month getting transcribed and are theoretically going through our Vifam translator before also being re-edited by our expert.

But honestly, nobody cares about translation quality as long as it's in readable English. Five years of fansubbing have taught us nothing if not that.

And it's done. To be fair though, the translation on these two episodes seems a bit clunky and 'incomplete', as in it lacks the details. But unfortunately, my weak Japanese-fu isn't enough to fix it so i can only time it.

But well, my part of the job is done. Finally. Not to mention I was late for like two weeks. Sorry.

I would volunteer to have a stab at cleaning it up if it wasn't for the fact that I'm barely coping with my uni workload as it. Just one more week and I'll be free for a month :D
