Ancelotti Opens Door To Del Piero Move This morning Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport reported that Juventus skipper Alessandro Del Piero was on the verge of moving to Milan, a switch that would then allow Juventus to sign Antonio Cassano from Roma. This afternoon Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti failed to claim the reports were untrue, to the contrary he hailed Pinturicchio. "I would be happy to coach Del Piero. My relationship with him has always been great, and he’s a serious athlete," said Carletto. The Rossoneri side of the San Siro is shining like a light at the end of the tunnel and Carlo Ancelotti’s call could push him to take that first step. It would be a traumatic decision to tear himself away from the club after 12 years as its representative, but Alessandro Nesta has already shown that you can start again at Milan and find a new identity. "There are many players I have trained and would gladly work with again. Del Piero is one of them because he is a consummate professional and it’s always a pleasure for a Coach to deal with that kind of person," said Carlo Ancelotti recently. "The doors to the Milanello training ground are always open for him." The Rossoneri have become something of a safe haven for those who feel hard done by in their club lives. Marcos Cafu was all set for a free transfer to Japan when the call came. Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo were declared flops by Inter and released without a second thought. On the strength of his pre-season performances, Christian Vieri is ready to prove his doubters wrong with a hard-working and committed campaign. Could Del Piero benefit from the same change of scenery? Would his creativity suddenly be released by a team less obsessed with defensive structure? Is all that’s lacking simply the knowledge that his Coach and teammates believe in him? There’s only one way to find out and, about to turn 31 years of age in November, it’s the right time for Del Piero to take the plunge. |

I think it will be a sad day for Juve if Alex does go to Milan  Can't bear the sight of Juve's symbol playing (worst is scoring) against us!! :ph43r: But seriously i think it will happen, looking at our history of letting go our top players like Baggio, Zidane, Inzaghi, Davids, Ravanelli, Vialli (!!!) ..the list goes on.. On the other hand somehow Moggi will bring in an adequate replacement that'll blow us away :D I always thot Viera's signing would only happen in Fantasy Football until it really happened ..hahaha |

if del piero is really going to milan, then there's a big chance that cassano might be joining us in january. but somehow i think he is still going to stay here, at least for another season. but bear in mind that he is no longer our 1st or 2nd choice striker. capello only want strikers who appear to be a clinical finisher and also with great pace and vision. do u think alex is still that kind of striker anymore? dont get me wrong, i am a del piero fan, and everyday i hope he'll be like he used to be. there's no one like him. but time has prove he's beginning to show that his career is nearly reaching its end. and what capello did to del piero is understandable. if he's really going to milan, then there's no more im hoping for rather than wanting cassano to replace him. i like del piero but i love the club more.. |

in my opinion, alex has pasts his best. let him go.. we got excellent strikeforces of trez, zlatan, mutu & zalayeta. he's the highest wage earner, yet a benchwarmer.. what a waste <_< i also think we need a reliable natural attacking midfielder / backup striker. why don't mutu play that role? he played well in that position back in parma, and still when putting on his country's shirt. no hard feelings mates :ph43r:, just some suggestions :) |

It's all as we expected... MAN UTD TARGET UNSETTLED VIEIRA Man Utd have made Patrick Vieira their number one transfer target, according to The Sunday People. Vieira has apparently become disenchanted with life in Italy since leaving Arsenal in the summer for Juventus and Sir Alex Ferguson is 'desperate for a midfield warrior to replace inspirational skipper Roy Keane, who may quit in the summer. "Vieira's first foray into Serie A with AC Milan 10 years' ago ended with the midfield star quitting in disgust after racist taunts blighted his stay in Italy," says The People. "Now it is believed another incident may have triggered Vieira's worst fears about his £13million return to Italy only last July," their report states. "Vieira has confided in close pals that the slower pace of Italian football fails to generate the same passion and excitement. United, meanwhile, are desperately missing the midfield leadership and drive that the injured 34-year-old Keane once gave them." |

Of course because we all know how 1. mentally stable and ready Del Piero is for big games (virtually all of Italy's major tournaments and his disappearing acts) 2. he is able to step it up a notch for a big match (May 28, 2003) 3. how he is anything BUT a choker (again...virtually all of Italy's major tournaments and his disappearing acts) 4. how he is NOT over-rated (Del Piero's performance in the WC and EURO's..correction: What "performance") 5. how consistent he is .. Please save your 'pipe-dreams' for your Gobbi/Juve friends ... or are you not yet allowed in their 'tree house' again ??? B) we don't need Del Piero...we have already 4 WORLD CLASS Strikers at our disposal!!..no thank you..!! ;) |

pippo n vieri...world class???.....juve old timer past their golden age....maybe u can count on their simple tap in for goals... yr argument is pretty acceptable...but the rumours created by italian press through yr fatty godfather ancelotti... :D del is juve's sweetheart and assist decisive goal to beat milan last year and also involved in memorable record of 6-1 juve win against milan, so no concrete reason y he interested to be milanese.... |
