The situation is this...

Juve has too many strikers at the moment, even when Kapo and Zalayeta is no longer with us for next season.... Del Piero, Trezeguet, Zlatan, Mutu... ALL of them national team players, and ALL of them would not be happy to be on the Juve bench... Juventus has made it clear that Roma's Cassano is a transfer target, though not a total necessity for Juve.. Previously Juve have offered Mutu and Chiellini to exchange for Cassano, but Roma wants Miccoli... So Juve GETS Miccoli from Fiorentina for the player swap...

Then idiot Roma get themselves banned from buying any new players, which means that Miccoli is a wasted product at Juve, and Cassano can only bought by cash-only bids... We now have 5 world-class strikers at our disposal, and lack of cash...

This is where Chelsea comes in... Chelsea is DESPERATE for a world-class striker... Shevchenko, Ronaldo, Adriano have all been approached, but no one's coming... Trezeguet too have been approached in the past but the bid have been rejected... ACMilan wants Crespo to stay at the San Siro, but if Chelsea fail to sign a topstriker, then they will recall Crespo to Stamford Bridge... Now Chelsea have made ANOTHER bid for Trezeguet because they know of the situation Juve is in:

1. Juve have too many strikers.
2. Juve does not have much cash.

If Chelsea offers a ridiculous amount of money to Juve for Trezeguet, then problem #1 AND #2 could be solved... In fact, a LOT of problems for a lot of clubs could be solved... And so Chelsea offers a new bid for Trezeguet...

Chelsea 'offer £37m' for Trez channel4.com

Hernan Crespo could yet stay at Milan if Chelsea’s new £37m bid for David Trezeguet is accepted by Juve.

Bianconeri director general Luciano Moggi has confirmed that an initial offer for Trezeguet was rejected earlier this month, but the latest reports from Italy suggest that negotiations are continuing.

Newspaper ‘Corriere dello Sport-Stadio’ claims this morning that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has lodged another improved bid of £37m to prise away the Euro 2000 winner.

Although Fabio Capello and Moggi have stated that Trezeguet is not for sale, it’s unlikely they would turn down the opportunity to bring in such an impressive cash sum. The Frenchman has struggled this season with a succession of injuries and had been in talks with Barcelona, but now seems set for the Premiership.

This deal would have a knock-on effect for several Serie A clubs, as Juventus would have the money to buy Antonio Cassano from Roma in a cash-only £17m deal. The Giallorossi can only sell players in this manner until next summer due to FIFA’s transfer embargo.

Chelsea need a new forward and their inability to sign a striker was pulling Hernan Crespo back to Stamford Bridge against his wishes. The loan period at Milan has expired and talks to extend his stay have hit a stalemate despite his offer to take a pay-cut.

“Chelsea are trying to convince me to go back but what I really want to do is stay in Italy,” he told ‘The People’ newspaper. “I'm having the worst summer of my life because I don't know at what club I will be at in two weeks time. Since losing the Champions League final the only good thing that has happened has been my wedding.”

The former Parma, Lazio and Inter star signed for Chelsea in 2003 for £16.8m, but found it difficult to settle in and only rediscovered his form at the San Siro

--------------------------------------

As in the report, Chelsea buying Trezeguet from Juve would have an effect on not just Juve and Chelsea, but also for ACMilan...

1. Juve has money for Cassano bid
2. ACMilan can keep Crespo
3. Chelsea has their much-needed striker

------------------------------------

Here's another news on how much desperate Chelsea is for Trezeguet...

Crespo in shock Juve link Monday 4 July, 2005

Milan’s hopes of keeping Hernan Crespo could be dashed with Chelsea ready to offer the player to Juventus.

The Rossoneri are keen to hold on to the Argentine after a successful 12 month loan stay at the San Siro.

But whispers in the peninsula on Monday are suggesting that Crespo could end up at Italian champions Juventus instead.

Chelsea, the club who still own the South American, are prepared to include the forward in a player plus cash deal for David Trezeguet.

The London club are desperately seeking a new striker and have reportedly made the Frenchman their new priority.

Juventus may consider accepting the proposal given that they would not only net some much needed funds but also a proven striker to replace Trezeguet.

Crespo, who is keen to stay in the country after recently marrying an Italian, has already had substantial success in Italy during spells at Parma, Lazio, Inter and Milan.

Should Crespo join Juventus, or not return to Milan, then the Rossoneri will make an attempt to sign Christian Vieri.

The latter left Inter on Friday after terminating his contract a year early and is available on a free transfer.

Vieri is said to be in favour of an Italian stay in order to remain in the mind of Italy boss Marcello Lippi ahead of the World Cup Finals.

---------------------------------------------

This is a different scenario entirely... If Chelsea ends up with Trezeguet, and Juve ends up with Crespo, it is ACMilan who now will be desperate for a striker... Gilardino is too expensive, and Vieri on a free would now seem a possibility..

In my opinion, even though Trezeguet is our best finisher, but with Chelsea becoming more and more desperate and we are the only ones who look likely to be able to CASH IN on their desperation, i say, let's do it... 37million for Trezeguet (we can get Cassano at a mere 17million), we STILL have a lot of money left AND we still have a lot of strikers at our disposal...

the thing is now juve have prepared to get vieira by offering arsenal tudor + zebina + cash so guess the trez deal is a different thing

if we manage to sell trez to chelsea for big cash, then i guess our chance of getting cassano is high as we cant give roma any of our players in exchange for cassano

but still, with zlatan, del piero, mutu and cassano/trez, all of them have to fight for their places in the starting lineup. im convince that zlatan will be in but others must strive to secure their places in order to be in 1st eleven

personally i dont want to sell trezeguet for obvious reasons. he has proved his loyalty to us and has done everything right as a striker.

though he may fetch a lot of money and we can use that to buy other players, it seems that our negotiations arent going bad either - we're bidding for vieira at 12m pounds and pires at 4m pounds, reasonable prices to me (though I hate vieira). you are right in the sense that we need cash for our transfers, but i am hoping we can find some in selling our other "more insignificant" players

unfortunately, juventus have always sold their stars to buy new ones. its a tough call.

if i was given a choices... i rather not sell Trez
he's a proven scorer in our club.. lets just hope last season injury woes is due to his luck only... if he is available for most of our next campaign, i dont see any reason for us to fail to win CL!!!

Juve Don't Sell Trez-Ibra

Zlatan Ibrahimovic told Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport that he believes the Bianconeri should hold-onto superstriker David Trezeguet.
”David is a great player, let’s not joke. He is always able to find the net. He was unlucky last season due to a series of injuries, but next season the real Trezeguet will be back,” said the Swedish striker.

In the past month Trezeguet has been linked to a move to Premiership giants Chelsea, a move that would bring a lot of money into the Bianconeri’s bank, but would also, according to Ibrahimovic, deprive them of something unique.

”Who knows if the Chelsea rumours are true. If he left though, it would be a big problem for us,” he said.

Ibrahimovic also revealed who he thinks is the best in the world right now.

”It must be Ronaldinho, I would love to play wiith him,” he said.
