Indeed, very few clubs can afford to pay Del Piero's wages, but Chelsea is one of those clubs who CAN afford Del Piero... A recent article by France Football (May 2005) placed Del Piero among the top earners in world football (#5), with Frank Lampard (#6) and John Terry (#9) doing very well at Chelsea... BUT please note that the below earners INCLUDE commercial endorsements and image rights... In truth, David Beckham does not have the highest wage... David Beckham actually gets paid annually 6.4 million euros ($10.3 million US), the same as Zidane and Ronaldo. So which player in truth is the most paid player (in wages) in world football today?? Frank Lampard (#6) gets a yearly wage of 7.6 million euros, making him the best paid player in world football.. Top Earners (Players; includes commercial endorsements and image rights) 1. David Beckham, Real Madrid, 25 million euros ($40.3 million Cdn) 2. Ronaldo, Real Madrid, 19.6 million ($31.6 million) 3. Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid, 13 million ($30 million) 4. Christian Vieri, Internazionale, 12 million ($19.4 million) 5. Alessandro Del Piero, Juventus, 9.5 million ($15.3 million) 6. Frank Lampard, Chelsea, 9.4 million ($15.2 million) 7. Raul, Real Madrid, 9.3 million ($15 million) 8. Thierry Henry, Arsenal, 9.2 million ($14.9 million) 9. John Terry, Chelsea, 8.6 million ($14 million) 10. Luis Figo, Real Madrid, 8.5 million ($13.8 million) 11. Ruud van Nistelrooy, Manchester United, 8.46 million ($13.7 million) 12. Ronaldinho, Barcelona, 8.2 million ($13.3 million) 13. Oliver Kahn, Bayern Munich, 8.09 million ($13.1 million) 14. Roy Keane, Manchester United, 7.92 million ($12.8 million) 15. Patrick Vieira, Arsenal, 7.8 million ($12.6 million) 16. Michael Owen, Real Madrid, 7.5 million ($12.1 million) 17. Francesco Totti, Roma, 7.4 million ($12 million) 18. Sol Campbell, Arsenal, 7.3 million ($11.8 million) 19. Michael Ballack, Bayern Munich, 6.83 million ($11 million) 20. Rio Ferdinand, Manchester United, 6.42 million ($10.4 million) ............ Not only that, Chelsea's Jose Mourinho is also the highest paid coach in the world... And this is BEFORE Mourinho recently signed a new 5-year contract with chelsea.. Managers 1. Jose Mourinho, Chelsea, 7.5 million ($12.1 million) 2. Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United, 6 million ($9.9 million) 3. Sven-Goran Eriksson, England, 5.8 million ($8.4 million) 4. Arsene Wenger, Arsenal, 4.4 million ($7.1 million) 5. Ottmar Hitzfeld, ex-Bayern Munich, 3.3 million ($5.4 million) 6. Fabio Capello, Juventus, 3.2 million ($5.2 million) 7. Jurgen Klinsmann, Germany, 3.1 million ($5 million) 8. Claudio Ranieri, ex-Valencia, 2.9 million ($4.7 million) 9. Rafael Benitez, Liverpool, 2.6 million ($4.2 million) 10. Alberto Zaccheroni, Internazionale, 2.3 million ($3.7 million) ............................... as for Adrian Mutu... Here's the latest shocking pictures released.... Mutu; back to his old tricks.... If the rumour is true, I think only Chavski and The Scums could afford Del Piero's salary. We, unfortunately, couldn't :( But again, Del Piero himself, doesn't want to downgrade his career playing with us. |

Chelsea Zoom In On Del Horno "Chelsea are preparing a big-money offer for Athletic Bilbao left-back Asier Del Horno. The player’s recession clause is 20 million euros, and although the Blues seem unwilling to meet that price, they are preparing an offer of between 14 and 16 million. The player would sign a four-year contract, with the terms improving as he established himself at Stamford Bridge. Del Horno’s agent Jokin Barcena was in London on Tuesday discussing the matter with Chelsea representatives. " ............. Heard in the Chelsea boardroom... Mourinho: "i said, Del PIEERO... PIEEERO you idiot!!!" |

DP could still b very useful..esp for his "magic" to turn the game around..but as hes getting older surely he will b consdering to play as much as he can..but that would prbbly not happen next season.. if he feels happy with capello n ready to get rotated (which i dun think so) then he can stay but if hes not happi, juve hv to let him go gak...no point keeping him if he plays badly.. |
