The hardcore modders in attendance need not apply unless they're looking for a quick jaunt down easy street, but those terrified of solder guns, glue and screwdrivers best listen up. A newly formed company, BGRMODS, has just introduced its very product, and it's pretty much a must-have for Xbox 360 owners. IntensaFIRE is an easy-to-install chip (we're talking five minutes, tops) that modifies the Xbox 360 wireless controller in order to enable 5-mode sleeper settings (including a customizable user programmable mode) as well as a rapid-fire mode that should finally compensate for your lack of skill in Call of Duty 4. Hit the read link for the specifics on installation (trust us, there ain't much to do), and get ready to upgrade your game on September 7th for $29.99.

How totally awesome is this? Oh wait, it's not. I suspect we'll see an influx of Rapid Fire modders in games now. Hopefully developers will update/include speed limiters in thier games.

If they do make speed limiters I hope they're not too limiting. I like having the ability to shoot a gun as fast as my finger allows me, it makes a game more realistic and based around skill. That is until people rapid-fire mod...

Yeah I know, that's the worst thing about this mod. A feature that makes a game more realistic and takes greater skill to use is negated because of this stupid mod. I hate the idea of speed limiters too, but I'd rather have them than have people cheat.

Is there a way to calculate the average CoD4 player's shots per second, and have the limit adjusted so that it's not noticeable?

And how isn't this illegal? It's patent infringement, isn't it? A modification to a wireless controller which operates a game console... "known exploit" will be a much vaguer word on the file complaints if I find people use this online.

Hang on, I'm going to post that mod-box on FML....

While it is a violation of the Xbox Live Terms of Use, there's no way to detect a mod on a controller, and that's really the modders saving grace. Also, since there are MS certified Turbo controllers, you then have to prove they're not using one of those. And it can't be considered an exploit because the game allows you to fire as fast as you can.

And it's not patent infringement because they're not selling a modded product, it's a product that you apply yourself. Which then leaves the blame on the player, but that comes back to the whole not being able to detect the mod. Damn it all...
