The Question of the Week makes a return! ![]() Fairly self explanatory, so go ahead and answer with a solid comment! What game or three were your favourites back in the day of Xbox Original, PS2, Gamecube and last-gen PC? Feel free to pick a couple if you'd like. Just make sure that the games you choose are not on PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii -- unless they're direct ports, or on the originals program. Anyway, have at her! I know mine! Do you? -Rocky |

Well, my first game on the original Xbox was Halo: Combat Evolved, which me and Vyise spent day in day out playing. It was so well composed and layed out that even Bungie themselves haven't beat. Nearly every level had extremely memorable and beautiful moments. I remember when we first encountered The Flood, freaked us the hell out, lol. And the second half of The Maw with the Warthog sprint was just fantastic. After that it would definitely be The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which was the first game to be played in my first Xbox. I was so obsessed with that game, I had never played an RPG with such depth before. And, just as with Halo, I've yet to come across one that equals it, not even Oblivion or Fallout 3. I'm really looking forward to the next installment of the series, even if I need to wait another three or more years. Jump a couple of years later and we get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. There's not really much I need to say, if you played back then, you already know what made that game great. The only other game that I would mention would be Phantasy Star Online, I had well over 300 hours clocked in it, and still never experienced the full game with my level 105 character (level cap was 200!). Plus the four player co-op really increased the experience. Me and my friends would spend day-in-day-out playing. While this generation has really pushed the technical side of game design, there have been very few games that have given me the experience of the old Xbox days. But, I'm hoping that will change. |

Good question right there. My picks came pretty easily. Naturally Halo is numero uno, for all the reasons Sparty said and more. Man, what a great game. Second in line would have to be Super Smash Brothers Melee. I played that game religiously for nearly 2 years, and even went to a tournament at one point, where I got my ass handed to me. I don't think it would have lasted as long if I didn't have a close nit group of friends to play it and hone my skills with. And in third is PGR2, oh yeeeeah. Intense races, cat and mouse, KUDOS, and flying Radical's? Can't beat that, and I'm pretty sure a certain Rocky2000 might be inclined to agree. So there's my 3... a FPS, a fighter, and a racer. Nice and easy for me. |

Yea, gotta go with Cory on this, at least for the last-gen Xbox games. Halo: CE and Morrowind are the only two games that I've liked so much I can't put it in words. Those games bring back ridiculous memories man. The Halo LAN parties at Zypher's and the amazingly expansive for it's time Morrowind. KOTOR isn't up there with those two, but it's pretty high up there, no doubt. But, I chose the 64 rules supreme. It tops Morrowind and Halo when it comes to games that just brought me memories. Sure games now have better graphics and more stuff, but they can't bring me the times I used to have on N64. Starfox, Super Mario Castle, Mario Kart, Golden Eye. Nothing compares to those on any level when it comes to games I ENJOY and can spend hours upon hours playing them with my friends. Something about them no current-gen game can touch, don't know what.

I would have also named a few N64 and SNES games, but I saw "What game or three were your favourites back in the day of Xbox Original, PS2, Gamecube and last-gen PC?", and N64 doesn't fall into that category =[ |

Hey, I spent my fair share of time in PGR2 as well! Most of it was in single player, but it was a great game, no doubt about it. EDIT: Just noticed I didn't have the poll image added for the 360 Theme, oops! FIXED! Edited by SpartanZypher, Apr 29 2009, 10:13 PM.

Well, Halo:CE without a doubt was awesome. Made me buy an Xbox (I was a PS2 fan at the time). GTA III was completely kickass on the PS2. I still actually have it. The third favorite of mine was Thief on the Xbox. Just something about that game. There was a ton of awesome games during last gen, but for the vote, I had to say they are better this gen, considering the graphics, gameplay options, and of course MP. |

You know what, I don't think I ever completed GTA III. I had made it to the third island, but never really followed the story after that. |
