I'm sure those of us who live here in Oklahoma know, but not sure about the rest of you. Yesterday afternoon some grass fires started originating in my city, Midwest City, around lake Stanley Draper.. They slowly start moving south towards Choctaw taking many homes with them and now there are some fires even in Texas. My aunts house was completely skipped over, took out her neighbors though. My dad's co-worker David lost his house and dogs, his house was in one of the most severely damaged areas, Oakwood. Apparently my cousin Gabe's house was burnt to the ground as well. Anyways, just hope for the best over here, many of my friends from school are suffering from this, as well. It's really sad, it took over a huge portion of southern Oklahoma within a few hours and no one expected it. |

Yeah, we drove out to some of the area's and checked out the damage today. What sucks is that most of the places that were burned, also have a bad time with tornadoes. The fire took nearly the same path as the tornado that hit there back on May 3rd '99. Hopefully the people will move to a place that has a smaller chance of natural disaster, losing everything once would be hard enough for me, let alone twice. Of course, those are the reasons I want out of this state. |

For those that were affected by them. yes. The fires probably caused more loss of possessions than the tornado, but the tornado did hit a lot more people. |
