So, I just finished playing through the Killzone 2 demo.... for the sixth time, and it had me thinking that a lot of the earlier on games don't get later recognized for the game of the year awards. So I thought we might work backwards, and see what we're looking forward to in the future, rather than forgetting the past!

Some of the major titles I can name off the back of my head are below for you to consider. When you reply, tell us just WHY you think the games you're looking forward to interest you! Don't want any lists or anything... unless you're up for commenting on such.

inFamous for PS3 will be hitting shelves this summer. Think Force Unleashed meets Assassin's Creed.
In no specific order, here are some of mine:

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Killzone 2
inFamous
Resident Evil 4
Halo Wars

Just to name a few. What about you guys?

So you tell us to put WHY, not just a list, AND THEN YOU MAKE A LIST! Hah!

I for one am certainly looking forward to Halo Wars. I played through the demo not knowing what to expect (never played a RTS), and loved it.

I also can't wait for PGR5, which is in development. I love the PGR series and still own the last 3. I hope they do a good job with 5 so I can get some more cat + mouse action in my life.

I'll have to think a bit more about this...

So what you're trying to say is that you're going to meet me in PGR2 for some ramping on St. Basil's Circle? They should bring PGR2 to the originals. I'd buy it...

I must ask this, when and where did you hear PGR5 is in development? Because I've never heard anything of the sort, especially since Bizarre Creations is no longer with Microsoft (and Microsoft owns the PGR IP). The only other Race game studio MS has is Turn 10, and they're working on Forza Motorsport 3. But I suspect they'd be ones doing PGR from now on as well, along side Forza. Like I said, I just never recall hearing/reading anything about the next PGR.

Now, back on subject.

I'm really looking forward to Halo Wars, after playing those first couple missions, I want more. It doesn't quite have the depth of more traditional PC RTS', but that was to be expected. Ensemble really pulled it off, and even though Ensemble may not exist now, it was broken up into two studios. And one of them will still be supporting Halo Wars. So, hopefully, we'll see some DLC for it later down the road.

While I've never really played a Resident Evil up until RE 5, I think I'll give it a rent, just for the co-op mode alone. I'm also curious about Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, it's a Diablo style top-down RPG (although you can zoom in to a near 3rd person camera), which is something I've been craving for a while. Then possibly Dark Void, it's been coming along nicely.

Moving into the summer would be one of the first Arcade games I really want, Battlefield: 1943. It's pretty much a remake of three of the Pacific Island maps from Battlefield: 1942; Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Wake Island, only this time using the Frostbite Engine. Here's a link to the trailer: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/45143.html.

I'll post some more later.

Huh, I remembered hearing a while back that PGR 5 was on its way... I guess I was wrong. Let me change what I said then, to I HOPE that PGR 5 comes out! Also let me change my most anticipated game to Forza 3, cause damn I love that game and didn't know it was in development until I actually looked up PGR5 after reading your post. 2 discs? Tons of content? I still haven't finished with Forza 2 yet! WOOOOO!!!

my list
-halo wars
-MTG
-Highlander!
-COD modern warfare 2
-Majesty 2
-FFXIII

halo wars:
I still have to try the demo but I love RTSs. My favorite games of all time include Warcraft II and III, Starcraft, and the Command & Conquer stuff. Unfortunately when I tried C&C on the xbox the controls were just too unwieldy for me since I'm used to microing (controlling each unit).

MTG
I played the card game for years. I'll have to at least give it a look.

Highlander
Umm... swords, immortals, and based off one of the best movies ever.

COD: MW2
With how much we played COD4 I can't see us not getting this.

Majesty 2
I still have a copy of the first for the computer, unfortunately I lost the expansion and its not an easy game to come by.

FFXIII
Yeah I know its been pushed back to next year but it still deserves a mention. While X-2 and XI were travesties of the series I'm hoping they've learned their lesson. XII wasn't bad and with how much I liked the earlier games I have to play it.

And I'm probably missing something else but from my quick skim of IGN thats it really

Ok so Battlefield 1942 was sweet, and 1943 looks bad ass, but I have something burning away at the back of my mind. What was that game called... it was a top down arcade game where you and possibly a partner controlled airplanes and just shot like crazy? I can't remember but it definitely had 1942 in the name. It's KILLING me.

You must mean 1942: Joint Strike, at least that's the one that's on the Marketplace. I always enjoyed those kind of shooters, would have purchased it if I had the spare cash.

And yeah, Battlefield: 1943 is going to be an arcade game. That's why there's only 3 maps, the other thing they've changed, since this is supposed to be a bit more "pick-up-and-play" than Bad Company, you'll have Health recharge and Unlimited Ammo. Don't think it will ruin the game too much, but other those it's a full 24 player Battlefield.
