Yea, one of my FAVORITE bands of all time, they're going on tour and coming my way!! I'm excited and DEFINITELY gonna see them.

ALSO

I'm going to see Metallica! I've never really been a fan, but it's bound to be a kick ass show. My cousin (midgitfighter, whom you all hate =p) got 4 ticket from his rich uncle and he's taking me. Woot! The seats are BALCONY BOX! I'd rather be in the pit for a show like this, but DAMN! The tickets must have been a few grand each! EXCITING! BE JEALOUS!

Never heard of them. I'm a long time Metallica fan though,. I'd love to go to one of their concerts, even if people are saying they're overrated now, which I completely disagree. Music is music, of course over 20-30 years you're going to see a bit of repetition in a band's music, sheesh! Anyways, I'm going to see Slipknot, Coheed and Cambria, and Trivium in mid February. Not a HUGE fan of any of them, but a few of my friends were going and I haven't gotten to go to a real big concert. We got ground floor tickets! :) I'll be coming back with a few casts and maybe a neck brace, being 5'8 and 120 lbs will do that to you at this kind of concert.

I'm a pretty big fan of Coheed, have been for quite a while. Slipknot is right of galli's ally, not mine =p And I've heard of Trivium, but never really listened. That should be a damn good show, and you're almost definitely gonna get owned haha!

Speaking of bands. I've been playing guitar with my brother's friend Kayla recently. She's pretty good and has played in a band before. She just kicked her guitarist out of her band and invited me. Apparently I'm better then him with only 5 months of experience playing guitar..and he's 20 so I'm sure he's had more than me. Not even sure what kind of music I'll be playing, but I don't really care, I want to get some experience at playing with others and playing at shows before I get a permanent band. For all I know this could be a permanent band...

If you ever intent to get serious about a band, make sure you have plenty of time to devote to it. I've been around the local band scene for a while, and you can tell who has their shit together and who doesn't. One of my best friends has been working with his band for years now. He dedicates most of his time to writing lyrics/music and practicing with his band mates. They're currently working on a CD and getting a label to go on tour. It's a TON of work, unless you're just in it for fun.

Trail of Dead are awesome - their first CD is my fav (the one with Another Morning Stoner).

I have tix to Metallica on Thursday night ($150 a ticket) but I can't go because of work so my GF is taking her nephew with her. I haven't seen Metallica since the Master Of Puppets tour....yes, Cliff Burton was still in the band. That was back in 1986.

Well, I devote anywhere from 4-8 hours a day playing guitar, and it's the only thing I can do constantly for that long. I can't even play video games that many consecutive hours anymore. I definitely plan to make a career out of music so I'm not worried about how much work it is. I'm going to get home schooled starting next year so I'll have an extremely lax schedule to work with between practice and shows. I wish I could see Metallica. Robert Trujillo is a beast on stage, nothing quiet like him. Getting an autograph from Kirk would be like...I'd probably faint..then wake up and ask him if he had a spare guitar. ;)

Interesting, I expected them to be a lot heaver then that because of the name. Reminds me of Death Cab. Not a bad band, I wouldn't pay for tickets to their concert, but I'd give them a listen every now and then. They're drummer really likes the cymbals.

Yea they're not really heavy, the name is misleading. They're really... I don't know... they make me smile. The music is well done, flows nicely, almost feels overcoming at times. The lyrics aren't mindless mouth vomit like some bands, they have meaning, they're very emotional at times. Just plain awesome, I can't get enough of them.

If you listen to anything, listen to Worlds Apart, specifically Will You Smile Again, Caterwaul, Let It Dive, and Worlds Apart.. ESPECIALLY Worlds Apart, my favorite song. Maybe look up the lyrics to it, too =p
