No it doesn't... I don't consider them different machines because the NES was not designed to replace the Famicon, it was just the Western version of the same console. Take current generation consoles with their region specific models, same thing.

I guess it depends on the person then. I don't consider region specific consoles the same machine unless they are, literally, the same machine. If I can't go buy a game and play it on the Japanese version of a system but I can play it on the American version, then they're not the same machine, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I suppose I should put in my two cents here... since I did mention I own those older Nintendo consoles! :)

I think I'd have to agree that they are different machines - like the U.S. Dreamcast & Japanese Dreamcast (or the European Dreamcast) are different. With either a mod to the console or through the use of a loader disc, then the games from the different regions would play on the Dreamcast.

$7000.00 for all those games? That's crazy! Were those "original" games, or download versions for the Wii?

Oh... I was thinking about listing my Nintendo gear here, but it ended-up being a really huge message. I'll do it later, in a separate thread! ;)

My gamercard below links to xbox.com, so if you are logged-in to their web site, you can view my Xbox Profile... as well as my played games! Neat trick, huh?!!

Those are ORIGINAL games. I'm sure it would be a lot cheaper if they were somehow for the Wii. Some people are just crazy!
