How about adding a "next song" option on the main guide button page? But they still need to make a way to access your current playlist rather than starting a new one. Currently the only way to access your playlist again is to add another song onto it, and to do that you have to be in the dashboard.

If nothing else swap the layout on the media pane in the guide. Put the controls on top and the libraries on the bottom since you must exit the game to access the libraries.
That's pretty much what I was saying, about swapping them. It wouldn't be cluttered, just make it like the dashboard one and have a single button that says "Libraries" to access the listed libraries that are already there, it'd work perfectly. And an easier solution to fastfowarding is just make it like it is on many other things where you just hold A on the next button and it fast forwards.

Yeah I was thinking that but its too simple and it makes too much sense for them to implement it. We need something more complicated. Like a whole new sub menu that we have to wait to load so we can FF songs.

Another thing I would personally like is the ability to change play speeds like WMP has.

Something else I'd like is a built in wireless adapter. Freakin' $100 for a piece of garbage adapter is lame.

On the wireless note... a wireless headset would be nice... a GOOD wireless headset. Maybe bluetooth... yeaaa...

Not everyone needs a wirelesss adapter, it's a pointless addition that's not required. For those of use who won't have or want a wireless network it's something we'll never need, but would still have to pay for. Everyone with a router can use a wired network, even if you run wireless, not true if you only have a wired router. So it's a needless option that would only drive the cost of the next system higher, which is something MS would try to prevent. You can get over 100 ft. of Cat 5/6 ethernet cable for way under $100, so why even bother with a complete wireless network? The only reason I'd even consider one is if I had a laptop, and even then I might not.

But I will say that $100 is too much, but their are other adapters that don't cost as much; such as: Linksys WGA54G or WGA600N and D-Link DGL-3420 or DWL-G820.
That or you could bridge through your PC and share it's connection, not the best solution depending on other hardware, but it gets the job done.

And I think the current wireless headsets work just fine, I had two of them and neither had any issues. Besides being chew toys for our dogs...

You have a nack for shooting down every single idea I have, you know? haha. Maybe they can make a built in wireless adapter an option then. I for one would get it. I purchased the adapter that is out now a long time ago and was displeased. I ended up getting a 150ft cable (for free) and now I run it from my router down the hall down the stairs through the basement to my xbox every time I want to play.

As for the wireless headsets... I never owned one myself, but I have had numerous friends complain about them. They have sync issues, interference problems, and are super sensitive when it comes to picking up extra noise.

Why would they make it an option? It would be cheaper to have a standalone, like they do now, that's one less SKU on the shelves of stores. But you know that cable you ran gives you a better signal than the adapter. And that's the adapters fault, by your explanation, it sounds like there's just a lot of material for that signal to get through. And by the time it gets to you it's too weak for your satisfaction. My cousin, mtb33, has the same kind of problem except he can't run a cable and he uses the Linksys adapter. It gets a two bar signal most the time, which is okay but not great. That's just one of the downsides to a wireless network.

As for the syncing problems, those should be caused by old controllers, mainly ones that came with consoles from the first year of production. They weren't capable of syncing together with the headsets, I know because I had one. If there's interference problems that wouldn't be fixed by switching to blue-tooth, they both run in the same frequency range, so they'd both get the same interference. Rocky and Vyise both use one on a regular basis, so long as they keep them charge, and I think they're quite pleased with them. And since we can't adjust how sensitive the mic is (now that's something I would like to see) they have to make the sensitive to be able to pick everybody's voice. Not everyone speaks loudly all the time, I know I don't.

And I've been shooting down everyone, not just you, lol. Just trying to keep the broad spectrum of MS' view in mind. You have to remember about cost, is a certain feature really needed as standard? Would consumers use it? Or could they use it all? Just some of the things that have to be kept in mind when building a product.

Now I can't really judge or predict what kind of specs the next Xbox will have. But I would like it to have at least 2Gb of memory, which isn't all that expensive nowadays. It's too difficult to tell what the other specs will be, currently the 360 uses a 3.2 GHz Tri-core (each core running at that speed), with two threads per core (for a total of six simultaneous processes). Which is still way better than what most of us probably have in our PCs. I'd expect no less than a Quad-core in the successor, possibly even more with the rate things are progressing.

For the GPU, I'd expect them to remain with ATI, though I prefer Nvidia for PCs. Mainly because ATI can build powerful, yet cheap GPUs. Whereas Nvidia GPUs are more expensive for an equal card. The 360 uses a modified version of DirectX 9 (dubbed 9.5), that has some of the abilities DirectX 10 has. However DX 11 will be released within a couple of years, and one would expect that to be included in the new console.

Oh, and HDD should be standard on all SKUs. Games can benefit from this, and this issue was one of the biggest with the 360. So just make them all have them, Devs and Gamers would be more happy. Maybe even let the current 360 HDDs work with it, not sure on the details as to how it would be done, but it'd be nice.

EDIT: That's quite the read, didn't know I was going to do that, lol.

My entire house is wireless and my connection is fine, the size of my house (small) probably having something to do with it, but still I'm the furthest away from my router and it is perfect. Wireless internet is one of the greatest things ever invented. I for one am not interested in dropping $100+ cables so I can run it around my house under this and through that. A built in wireless adapter IS a little impracticle, though. I just think the price of the current one should go down. As for the wireless headset, I don't like it because it isn't comfortable I have big and weird shaped ears and the wireless headset doesn't like them, and I doubt I'm the only one with this problem. So it's a really selective headset, whereas the wired one doesn't care what you ear is like, it just bands around your head. In all honesty I'd like to see the current wired one gone wireless, but keep the same little mute thingy that was on the old wired ones that plugs into the port on the controller as the wireless reciever/thingy to mute it. In simpler terms, first-gen 360 wireds exactly the same, without the wire. Ahaa. But that's just me, I've always had a thing for it's design, might not go as well with the consumers. And no, you definitely can't predict what hardware the next Xbox will have. Especially with how fast technology changes these days and who knows what tech MS has their hands on that the general public hasn't even heard of. I just want it more quiet, no overheating, and a better COLOR. White..is so bad.

Get an elite next time?

The next xbox definately needs sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads!

Bigger HDD and the ability to DL actual games. I realize that bandwidth costs but so does a factory for production, packaging, and shipping. But I think that's also on the game companies side and not just MS.

I think there will be the possibility of full game downloads. It makes both MS and the Pubs/Devs more money, since it's not a hard copy, and it saves us money as well for that same reason.

But what I would really like to see, and I've mentioned this before elsewhere, is full game rentals off of the marketplace. Instead of some brick-and-mortar buying up copies and renting, which no longer makes the Pubs/Devs any money, MS could rent digital copies. This would be beneficial to everyone. It would once again give them more money, save us money, and we would always have access to the game we'd like to rent.
