Dead Space puts you in the shoes of Isaac Clarke, an engineer with a space mining company. You're tasked with responding to a distress call from the USG Ishimura, but when you get there you soon find out not all is what it seems. So starts your fight for survival in this amazing game. Graphics: This is one very pretty game. Everything from the dust that floats around in zero-g, to the limbs that fly off the necromorphs look amazing. The animation is Superb . Things like Isaac lifting his hand up to block steam really gets you into the game. Now one thing you will notice is that this game has no HUD. Everything from your health to text documents are displayed with your suit. Movies and the like appear in little pop-up windows in front of Isaac, which is a really nice touch, even though it is a little hard to read some times. Sound: The sound is something to be heard. The voice acting is pretty up to par and the screams of the necromorphs are something you have to hear. The detail is great, for instance, when you are in space there is no sound and it really gives you a sense that something can come from anywhere without you knowing. Gameplay: Resident Evil 4 in space would be a good way to describe this game. There's seven pretty cool weapons, all upgradeable. On top of it all this game is well worth replaying a few times to upgrade everything and really get the full scope of the game. Atmosphere: Yeah it deserves it own tab. This game really knows how to scare you and you don't want to play this if you are of the faint of heart. It does an amazing job of making you feel hopeless and stuck in this situation that you don't know how to handle. This is a game you need to turn the lights off, the sound up and have a box of Depends at the ready, because this game will make you need them. Summary: Overall this game is a must play if not a must have, great graphics backed up with rewarding and fun gameplay make this game something to treasure, I'm giving it a 9/10.
