I'm posting this in a few other forums I belong to as well - anyway, I'm trying to get some people up for a regular Sunday Night GRAW session (1 and 2, doesn't matter). The times can be bent a bit, but for now, I'm shooting for 8:00 pm PST, for about an hour to two hours each Sunday. Let me know if you're interested! PS - Rocky, sorry if this is in the wrong place; didn't know if it should go here or what... |

I have GRAW, and still need most of the multiplayer achievements. So I'm up for it if that's what you'll be playing. |

No problem Eksir. We need some activity around here anyway, so it sounds like a plan! I work tomorrow until 7, but I should be able to make it. I've only got GRAW2 though, not the first (we all remember how fun that was for me online). |

GRAW 1 with another guy on a different forum, SpartanZ still needs achievements (me too - I want that darn 10,000 kills, man!
).Rocky, you still aren't on your original console, right? What would the possibility be of maybe borrowing a copy of GRAW from work to see if it will work for you now? I know that you can buy a used copy for dirt cheap & return it if it didn't work (just think of all them achievements you could get, Rocky - it would be like a new game for you! ). Still, I need coop achievements in GRAW 2 as well... SpartanZ - I have you on my f/l, so we're set! Looking at 8:00 pm PST, then! I still need to check one more forum, but so far we're up to three of us for GRAW 1, and GRAW 2 could be three as well... still room for more! Edit: there's at least four of us up for GRAW1 now. Rock - check your email for others who wanna play GRAW2 tonight! |

The Darkness, by Starbreeze Studios -- Written by Rocky2000 Starbreeze Studios has been made famous by previous generation titles like The Chronicles of Riddick (which will make a next gen debut, this year by the way); and now, they've pumped the volume (of blood) up to 11 with the Darkness. You play a character named Jackie Estacato, a gun-for-hire mobster who is under the orders of his uncle. His 19th birthday rolls around, and it ends up that his uncle Paulie wishes his death -- apparently Jackie had been slowing down business. Thing is, Jackie had come across a power with took over his body, and harvested itself in his soul, turning it darker than it's limit. This is The Darkness, and it's one hell of a game. Graphics: The textures are very nice. Up close, like many titles, faces and mapping doesn't look very impressive, but the environments and player models from a distance look remarkable. Shine on Jackie's long black hair, and the glow of the windows of the Subway trains all gleam in a "used, and dirty" finish. Weapons are in-game world models, and look just fine. The HUD is usually dimmed down or disappears, which gives the game a more cinematic experiance. Graphics receive a 4/5. It's nothing spectacular, but it's definitely next gen. Sound: The sounds of The Darkness are very... gruesome. It's very well done, and the musical score is nice, and nicely composed. The voice acting is superb, and despite a few like-phrases from different characters, it's well presented. The screams (which you'll be hearing PLENTY of, by the way) are exaggerated in a realistic matter, and the impaling of foes couldn't sound any better! Singleplayer: Since the Darkness is mostly singleplayer oriented, it's very well polished. The story takes you through an epic plot of revenge and aggression. Even if you pursue the path of honor and righteousness, there will be evil implicated throughout your story. Though there seem to be two different characters through the story (Good Jackie, bad Jackie), there is unfortunately only one ending. Though, it ends with some closure, it could have been much more -- though, despite the ending of the game, the overall experiance of gaining dark powers, and using them how you will is extremely satisfying; and you can't help but feel like a badass when you look at somebody in the eye, and press the left bumper to have 2 demonic snakes and a dozen tentacles come out of your back. Their fear is well presented -- there should not be anyone buying this game for it's multiplayer; in fact, I don't see why the game was strictly singleplayer, much like the upcoming title Bioshock. Singleplayer gets a 4.7/5 Multiplayer: The multiplayer of The Darkness is... well, it's well thought out. The ideas are there, and the thought put into the innovation of "Demon vs. Man" gameplay is clearly present. Now, imagine you're heading down a long hallway, and you see an enemy at the end of it. You begin to rush him in the narrow path, and you can see he's cornered -- he fires back, and hits you several times. You suddenly leap forward, and transform into a berserking demon a quarter size of the human you once were. You rush your enemy jumping from the ground to the ceiling, from the left wall to the right, and you lunge at your enemy, and rip his face off. Now, sounds great doesn't it? Well, though that was their intent, it's not exactly how it happens online at the moment. For the time being, the developers of The Darkness are taking a vacation after two years of development -- their game is receiving extensive online issues. The worst lag I've ever encountered on Xbox 360, moving around the map is difficult, and tedious. Your character jumps around over and over, and it's incredibly difficult to maneuver, let alone, shoot your enemy with your arsenal of weapons. Gameplay is sped up to compensate for the slow moving singleplayer chapters, which only worsens the online lag further. Though, the developers ensure us they will fix their game's problems soon. And as such, multiplayer deserves a 1/5. I will update this review once their update has been released. Replability: Though there is only one central ending, there is plenty to do through the game. Unlockable content (such as concept art, and pre-alpha work) is available through a classic hidden item system. Throughout the game, you will encounter pay phones, which you can use to enter phone number slips that you find on the ground. Almost all of them go directly to a voice-mail message, which ensues in hilarity. Achievements plot you to play the game twice as well, once on hard and once on normal. The game's difficulty is rather high on normal, so the game's well worth passing through again to see if you're a true legend. Conclusion: Overall, The Darkness is a great game. Though the multiplayer is rough (or JAGGED) around the edges, it will surely be updated in the near future. Until then, there is plenty of single player content to keep gamers happy in a dark and frightening world of demonic voices and jeopardy. I give The Darkness an 8.8/10 -Rocky2000 |

I haven't played Graw 2 with a good bunch in awhile. Sun was a good time, I even got the achievement for team MVP one match, that has to tell you how rusty the guys on my team were. If you play watch out for some maniac with a grenade launcher, I think his name was Rocky2000, maybe some of you have heard of this wild man with explosives. |
