Would you like to add Time of Day and Weather Effects?
Hell Yes! That would give it even more re-playability. 6 (75%)
Only ToD, Weather would be to obstructive. 0 (0%)
Only Weather, night time battles would suck. 1 (12.5%)
Neither, I don't want more choices. 1 (12.5%)

Lately around the Bungie.net and Halo 3 forums@Xbox.com there have been topics discussing if Halo 3 will/should have these choices.

Personally, I'm all for it. With the amount of time Bungie has put into weapon effects, it would be awesome to see those go off in the night. Not to mention it'd change the way you play.

That's something I notices about GRAW2... There's an early graveyard level (that was to DIE FOR; no pun intended) where by the end of surpassing the actual graveyard and heading into the city, the sun had rose, and the night was diminishing... I thought it was cool, but I didn't really notice it until I thought about it...

"Hey, my nightvision is blinding me.... Oh, I see... the sun came up."

I think it would be a great feature in Halo 3... Especially in Multiplayer. Call of Duty 3's WAR gamemode has had an effect on me for lengthy rounds. If the same long, and awesome rounds of VIP, or Custom Game mods take that long in Halo 3, I'd like to see a physical change of the map... they can do anything these days. They're the developers, so I imagine they'll bring something new to the table. I'm all for it.

I just hope if they do it they slow it down more than many games in the past where entire days fly by in about twenty minutes. Too fast.

How great would it be if there could levels in either Halo 3 or any other game where the time of day would go by whatever your console's clock is?
Turning it on at 11 AM, it's 11 AM in the game, sun out (unless it's an overcast day in the game). Get on around 6 PM, then the sun is starting to set in the game, too. Stuff like that. I don't program, but is that really so hard to implement?
Halo 3 could be the first.

I've actually thought of that idea as well. That would work fantastic in RPG's. I think the main problem, for implementing this in a multiplayer game, is that it's never the same in a different location in the world. That should be a little easy to deal with, just make it the hosts time, but in a game like Halo there's host migration. Which is why I think it shouldn't be a changing ToD, just a static day or night for a mutiplayer FPS. Would be perfect for a single player RPG though.

Yeah, it wouldn't work in multi. I was thinking just in the solo mode.

Had the same thought there -- but yeah, it wouldn't really work... unless they wanted to load 16 different versions of the map, haha!

Halo 3 Collecters Edition: 129.99
Halo 3 Faceplate, and controller: 63.99
Waiting 45 minutes for your Halo 3 match to load? Priceless...

There are some things developers can't develop -- for everything else, there's trying.

Hehe.

I'd love to see them implement this. But like Spazz said, I wouldn't want a whole day to go by in 20 minutes. The game could totally change depending on weather and time of day. Would be a good feature...

Right, changing weather and ToD in a non-persistent game is quite hard to pull off and the game really wouldn't benefit from it. Whereas a static weather or ToD system would excel in a multiplayer FPS. Just select your ToD for the match, if you want weather or not, then luanch it. Which is what I'd like to see in Halo 3.
