As far as others go? I usually have my settings on friends only, party only, etc. so I really don't hear them. When I do, I usually mute them so fast it's barely noticeable. Only way to go. I don't know where trash-talking first started, but I can tell you this: I first noticed it going overboard with Halo 2. Now I guess it's just supposed to be accepted as the norm or whatever... I don't get it, but hey - they're muted anyway, the bastards.
