What pisses me off is when people do it for no reason. You join a lobby with your friends and you're chatting and all of a sudden the other team interjects some bullshit for no reason. Then when you don't reply they keep going. Now if they did that, and we started back, it's fair game, but when people insist on doing it not-stop for no reason and tea bag your body, that's just childish. I try to avoid it as much as possible, but if some guy gets under the map in W@W, I'm going to tell him what's up. I think it started with Xbox Live in General. People started getting competitive, and took everything too seriously. Ranking systems is what does it. People take it so seriously, it's kind of weird. That's not to say that if there wasn't ranking systems there wouldn't be trash talking. It just wouldn't be to the extent it is now. Nowadays people will cuss out their teammates for not doing extraordinarily well or not matching their score. That's why if and when I do play Halo 3 I just play Social. Barely any trash talking in there. Hop into MLG and you get tea bagged, screamed at, and message spammed. So, I think it just started when little kids began playing LIVE games with ranks, and then made ranking up their lives. That and the lack of games is why I don't play 360 much anymore. |
