Trash talk. It's changed the experience in online games, and evolves every day. New workarounds such as the Xbox 360's party system take it down a notch, but it's pretty much inescapable. Head to a public forum like GAF or ABS and you'll find your soul is riddled with holes within a day or two -- and just for speaking your opinion.

That's why InfinityGaming is really awesome -- nobody here argues. There's debates, consisting (most of the time) of people that KNOW their material.... But heading online, and getting slammed for something you can't help is just obnoxious and stupid, and it makes me wonder just how it got so bad in the first place? Was it the first people to use in game exploits? The immature teens that would hijack daddy's live account and hop online? Was it Halo?

There's a fine line between trash talk and death threats. Both which are exchanged all too frequently online, but that line seems too thin, or invisible to some that use the service not for gaming, but for the thrill of the words; furthermore, I'm sure we've all received such blasphemy at one point or another.

Perhaps people aren't taking pride in their console, a la fanboyism, but are more selfishly taking pride in themselves as a gamer. There's a hundred billion different reasons people talk shit online, and I just wanted to know what you guys thought about it?

And more importantly, what ideas do you have to stop it?
