It wasn't long into my Xbox Live experience back in 2005 when I first realized that the internet community was a harsh, harsh reality of ne'erdowells doing close to regular things online. These "things" correlate directly to the type of conduct that I found ruined the online gaming experience for most people. Racism, internet bullying, trash talk, glitching, cheating and hacking alike are just a few of the ass end experiences I used to have on a daily gaming basis. I thought to myself that if there wasn't a first party way to stop it, I'd have to take matters into my own hands. I searched and searched for online gaming communities to join up with, and I found a few gems like PreGameLobby and SCC; but it just wasn't enough. I figured that I'd like to manage my own community. Start from scratch, and give online gamers a nice and relaxed gaming experience that wasn't drawn on other people's policies. Thus, InfinityGaming was born. Starting on a free forum website, we started to grow. I promoted Cory to an admin when activity started picking up, and together we brought what proud piece of work you see before you. Countless hours in coding, imagery and brainstorming brought a unique message board experience that gave our members a place to call gamer home. Shortly after the relaunch on Zeta Boards (with a complete website overhaul) we had decided to start up groups, ranks and introduced contests with the monthly game giveaways. It's my honor to be a spectre of the InfinityGaming universe, and there's no telling where iG is going without the valued members of the community. So you keep flying, and so will we.
I currently live in Victoria, BC Canada. I'm proud to be a Canadian, and nobody could tell you otherwise. I plan to move to Vancouver by the end of 2010 to attend a school called the Think Tank, in which I'll get the training needed to set up an exciting career in the gaming industry! It's the dream to work on games, and bring you the experiences that amazing devs like Bioware and Ubisoft have brought you in the past. My personal goal is making the games look prettier. Technology is advancing to the point where online tech blogs will have posts that make you say, "They have those now?" I've convinced myself that by working with a team of passionate gamers, I will study what games should be turning into. With projects like Microsoft's Natal, our gaming industry is expanding at an almost alarming rate. So getting dug deep in a community of my own, I figure I'll be able to almost study you, and your game interests to better improve you gaming experience in the coming years. Gaming, for me, has always been a deep passion. I can remember my early days back when I could barely hold a NES controller. Ever since then video games have been a huge part of my life. They've been a great way to relieve stress, escape from reality, and experience things I would never do. Once multiplayer games started to become more popular on the consoles, I started having small gatherings at my home. Spending all night playing games like Goldeneye 007 or Halo: Combat Evolved, I thought things couldn't get any better. Then came along Xbox Live, which I first experienced at fellow member Vyise's house. Having the ability to always have someone to game with or against, was a powerful thing. But ever since my first matches of Mech Assualt, I knew there was a darker side. The mysterious void that houses cheaters and fellow villains alike. After experiencing the evils of online gaming, I started my search for a community of gamers that had the same interests and ideals of what proper online gaming should consist of. I tried many a forum, finally settling at the Xbox.com forums. There I did find what I was looking for...at first. In the early days of the Xbox.com forums, before the Xbox 360 and forum update, the people were great. It was full of the kind of gamers I was searching for. But that changed over time, as the void released its spawn. But, one day, I was browsing one of the topics, and came across a link to a newly formed community, by one Rocky2000. This was when I found InfinityGaming. And ever since I've been a dedicated member, and have always searched out and welcomed new members. As of the time writing this, I live in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where I've always called home. I could not tell you what the future holds for me. Because the future I'd like never seems to happen. Everytime something good comes up in my life, it's taken from me. But don't feel sad for me, I'm not. I take everything day by day, and in the end, everything will work out for us good guys. Gaming started for me probably when I was about 6 and my friend got a Nintendo. We'd spend hours playing Super Mario Castle, Mario Kart, Star Fox, and Golden Eye 007. As of now, I have yet to find a game that I could enjoy nearly as much as those four games. I just had so many good times playing these games with friends and when I think about them they remind me of some of my better times in life. When I was 8 I got my first gaming console, a Playstation 2. I got Robo Pit and Gran Turismo, I forget which Gran Turismo it was exactly. It wasn't longer after that due to financial and family reasons we were forced to move from Texas to Oklahoma, where I now reside in Midwest City. On the first day of class in 4th grade there was this kid Chance that made me sit by him only to avoid having to sit by this weird chick he didn't like because she was about to sit by him. Not soon after we became friends. I invited him to my birthday party and after the party I went to his house, which is also SpartanZypher's house, Chance's brother. I walked in and observed 3 rooms all with Xboxs in them, screaming, and gunfire. They were playing Halo: Combat Evolved. I immediately knew I had to get in on this. So, my real passion for gaming started that day. Before, it was a very casual thing for me. I would play games maybe 2 hours a week. I started coming to Zypher's house more and more to get in on these LAN parties. They were a lot of fun while they lasted, but then a lot of the people that made them the fun that they were started growing up and moving away. A few year after it just ended up being Cory (SpartanZypher), his brothers Chance (SpartanCronos) and Cody (SpartanEnzyt3), Drake (Vyise), and me. I made a LIVE account and not long after Cory introduced me to InfinityGaming and Rocky2000. I joined up and the fun times ensued. Rocky showed me that there were people on LIVE other than cheaters and over-the-top trashtalkers. I've been part of iG since not long after it's creation and it's a great community to be a part of. We aren't a huge community by any stretch, but the members we do have are amazing and great people and they are what makes iG the place it is. I don't game as much as I used to. Back in the Halo 2 days it was a 4-5 hour a day every day thing for me. Once Halo 3 came out and I realized it sucked, other than campaign, and 80% of people on LIVE were complete douche bags, games started being less and less a factor in my life. Right now pretty much all I do is play guitar, hang out with my friends, and occasionally do some PC gaming. I go through phases with gaming where I'll play for ridiculous amounts of time a day, then I play barely 30 minutes a day. I'm on the 30 minutes a day phase right now, but once a game comes out I can really enjoy you can be sure I'll be playing all day. The genre I mainly stick to is anything with guns really. Also I'm a big fan of games like Bioshock and Dead Space. Strategy shooters I guess is what you'd call those. Well, that's about it for me.
