Even Charles woods thought the park should move forward. he added the comet and the boomerang, not six flags The park was meant to make cash when we get down to it. I have thought long and hard and am satisfied that the more of the past that is brought back the sooner the park will fail. We all grew up with TGE and grew out of it just like our kids!

Yeah your right about growing out of the park. Kids today don't say "i cant wait to go to the great escape and go in the little houses like people use to.
Now they say i cant wait to go see bugs bunny or timber town now

and on a side note premier acquired the park in 1996 and boomerang was added for the 1997 season

Yes I agree They removed flats and replaced them with bad roller coasters
not really, most of the coaster took over open land. boomerang took over 2 or 3 flats and canyon blaster took over the Tornado Dark ride and a chunk of the flume. Nightmare took over the wild mouse style zig zags. from teh flume. outside of that they were additions.

Personally I thin the zig zaps would have gotten a bit tedious. I don't mind the removal but the shortening for canyon blaster did take away form the ride.

To add on to what Mrceagle said:

Although Boomerang removed those rides, Danny the Dragon wasn't needed, We still have a carousel, Sea Dragon was updated with Pirate, a newer model, We have Cannonball Express which is basically the same as Thunderbolt.. My point is that yeah rides were removed, but they're still in different forms around the park, and Boomerang was a great addition. No matter if people just think its a "stupid vekoma boomerang" or not, it really benefits/ benefited the park.

Canyon Blaster for Tornado wasn't a huge loss... Tornado was extremely outdated and old and would need a complete overhaul.. Ghost Town Train was a nostalgic loss, but at the time of its removal, the train was at its shortest modified track length and the ride no longer included the caves or anything.. They also had the Storytown Train too...

Comet was placed on un-used land... Bobsled didnt require the removal of any rides, although they relocated Pirate from the Bobsled area to its current home when Bobsled was added so no loss there...
Frankie's Mine Train didnt take over any previous attractions... Steamin' Demon's hill that it sits upon was man made to fit the needs of Steamin' Demon so no loss there

I for got the train. It wasn't operating on my first trip so I never went on it. I agree Tornado needed a major upgrade but in my mind was a much better attraction then Canyon Blaster.

I do know that at one point there were many more rides in fiesta area

Assuming you mean fest area, yes. Many rides have been removed, most, if not all, have not been replaced. A short list includes Rotor, Trabant, Dumbo, Mouse and Cheese, Chippers (moved outside to replace Dumbo as Blizzard), Noah's Ark, Flying Dragons, Pony Ride, another kiddie ride, and I'm sure others that I don't remember.

I know they shortened the flume for Canyon Blaster In 03 but your saying they also took a Zig Zaged part out of the flume when they installed the Indoor Coaster? Does anybody have a picture of the flume in this form or even in the pre 2003 fourm?

Mrceagle is confused. Everything after the 1st lift is unchanged. The video from 1996, before Nightmare, proves that. The only thing that changed is the concrete route until the 1st drop .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7oysK-Jr5U

Thanks for the video very cool and that's what I had thought but thank you for proving it, so the only modifications to the plunge was in 03 and even then it's not that big of a loss
