ghost town even has authentic dust! (couldn't resist) The park is a hodgepodge of different things, but for the most part each section has its own identity. The park is a work in progress and has no clear starting point for anything and never will. I think a complete overhaul would be the only fix and who's going to foot the bill? regardless, like the topic suggest, the more the park changes the less it is TGE!

lets put it this way every part of the park is lacking of themeing except ghost town
Even Ghost town is a but under themed. I thin the only rue themed area is the International village/plaza.

I get your point but there is a right and wrong way to go at it. Giving an area that really is not themed a theme won't hurt because your not Subtracting anything. Enhancing an area's Current theme also will not take away the Nostalgia because your just making what is there better. like the new Castle in the center of the Cinderella coach ride.

I think along with a new ride every year they should spend around 50,000 on things like the cindellara castle, take down original elements of tge and replace them with a newer touch. The park needs alot of upgrades besides rides (all of ghost town)

yeah projects like Cinderellas castle are the right ay to do things. I just want to rephrase that the park has no one theme to bring it all together. People don't want the same park many grew up with either, so IDK if there is a one size fits all for TGE someone will always have something to complain about.

You can never make everyone happy. I regularly see complaints about Canobie Lake removing there Swamp Dark ride even though it was very dated and the log supports were a fire hazard. The building is now used fora half dozen things classic rides were removed for newer ones. those newer ones removed for modern staples. The park added rides like a wide out, frisbeee, and Skatter which added to rumors that the park had been bought by Six Flags. I guess SFI is the only company/parks that can add new rides.

They took a lazy wooded section and removed a chunk of the then 90year old ball room to add a Chute and a 1800's Boston themed area. there was so much though put in to it it was an immediate success now I can't imagination the ark without it. Why because they put though it to it. they didn't just place in the ride and give it a Boston name and say Yup this is Boston.

yea the park needs to keep evolving Right now they are trying to save everything from story town and parks that get two caught up in the past often fail

Yes if a park dose not evolve they will fail. But if rides and additions are picked with the park in mind it will support and build on the nostalgia. If rides are simply added with no rhyme or reason, such as most fo TGE's addition in the last 13 years. it takes away form what the park has.

The Themeing is sort of a non issue. It's you either theme it and have something on the rudder or you have no theme and there entire tub and rudder at Matt painted.

The ride in general is a classic style ride. Flying skooters have been around since the 40's

One thing we have talked about and I think needs to be talked about more is rehab and building of what they have already. it's hard to say they are loosing Nostalgia from additions the expansion even before the sale to Six Flags were standard, low brow at most after the Ghost town. half themes. I think part of the problem here is that they have removed so many rides. what was remembered is no more.
