The park said the coaster was never meant to be installed at TGE and that TGE was soely a storage place for it. the SLC was shipped to La Ronde and opened at La Ronde for their 2010 season.

I think the power upgrade was done to centralize all the main power equipment to one location. When I was there years ago it was a plan and they had been trying to work towards having everything in one locaton. Instead of having a bunch of areas on serparate electric services. I think it was done to save money. A lot of the areas that had individual service equipment needed replacing anyways and why not connect it to one central location. Especially when you are paying fees for each metered service.

Actually, the park said the power substation was a necessity, and not really an option. The park had outgrown the existing supply certain areas of the park. If you search through the Queensbury town records, you will find this to be the case

Yes. The current power configuration, Don McCoy said, can handle park expansions through 2016. Alpine Freefalls wouldn't have been possible without it as they had been maxing out their power supply for years. TGE is pretty much its own little town in terms of the power. The power they get is going to TGE and TGE only, and as stated by Don McCoy, power outages in the area would not affect TGE.
