It seems as if there is not one set name for TGE anymore. Their new logo and sign say only "Great Escape". The facebook page is listed as "The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom", Don McCoy, in an interview for the Times Union newspaper a few weeks ago referred to it as "The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom". And most recently, i called the park today to ask when they were going to be updating the park map on the website to the 2012 park map, and when the lady answered the phone, she said "Six Flags Great Escape". So this leads me to this new poll.... Which name do you guys all like better? Vote in the poll and leave your comments below if you want!

Great escape for now, and pending flagging. I believe in the next 2 to 3 years it will be flagged. I did noticed the new sign in front of Great Escape looks like a temporary sign to. I really think they need a new major coaster or attraction to become flagged. Also I strongly believe before they are flagged they would need to at least bring back some WB licensing such as Batman/Superman, so the new attraction can be themed after this.

One can dream :D

While I'd hope that the new logo along with the now-complete infrastructure improvements do lead to a "flagging" of the park, I'll note that, when I was working in my capacity at the park, most of the corporate officers encouraged management to refer to the park as "Six Flags Great Escape", mainly for brand recognition. I have a few friends that worked at the receptionist desk over the past 3-5 years who have said "Good morning, thank you for calling Six Flags Great Escape", for quite a while now.

But, yeah, the sign is definitely a hint, I think.

I am perfectly happy with just calling it The Great Escape.

I can see why they would add the water park name to Facebook and in press releases. you are talking about or marketing both attraction not one. they are on the same property under one ticket. They won't people to think o it as 2 attraction in one. this is not the case with many SFI park like NE which they want you to see ti s the largest singular attraction which houses a water park.

As for the SFGE and flagging, come on! if they had any plans to flag the park why would thy have removed the looney tunes themed kiddie land? Why wouldn't they simply keep the walk around characters instead of developing and manufacturing custom characters for the park. if the kiddie land had been down graded to JR ranger station with no development of a new theme then maybe but no I don;t see it ever being flagged.

If they were going to flag it, I think they need to put something more appealing where the Steamin Demon is.
