Why do you guys think serial thriller was never installed at great escape and shipped to la ronde? Was they ever any reason ever given the park? Would it have been a good addition to the park? Location? Etc. Just a little something to get the forums flowing. |

I honestly enjoy slc's... Theyre compact and thrilling. My pet peeve is they must be maintained correctly though. Moreys for an example. Theyre always Giving it TLC and the ride still runs like new... I just dont get why they wouldnt install it when it was on property! And they wouldve saved themselves money by installing it at tge because they wouldnt have to pay the transport costs from tge to la ronde.... It wouldve fit nicely and i think woulve boosted attendance a bit! |

We did an interview with Jen Mance, who was with The Great Escape at the time. She revealed to us that Serial Thriller was never meant to be installed at The Great Escape - and from day 1, it was always meant to be a storage stop of the ride because it had no where else to be stored at the time. If that is true or not, that was the formal answer given to GECentral. |

Didn't The Great Escape got another ride from Astroworld.... Was it the Shoot-the-chutes water ride? If so what happened to that ride? |

Yes. Im not sure if its still on property or not. And as to what nyguy said, its a shame because it wouldve fit so nice. It was a perfect opportunity too but i guess six flags and jen mance didnt think it was such a great idea |

Morey's is also the only slc that has the new trains that Vekoma offers with the new restraints. if you have been on any others slc's like dl's or sfne's you would immeditoly be able to tell the diffrence. The only other slc i ever see besides moreys get postive reviews is Thunderhawk at Michigans Adventure and thats because when that coaster was relcoated from Geuaga Lake, Cedar fair took the time to fix the vekoma gap which is a small spot where the wheel that runs along the bottomn of the track is not touching the track that has been the blame for alot of the roughness of slc's but six flags did not when they relcoated this one to La Ronde. Also the spalsh boat ride like many rides removed from Astroworld was said to be dameged to where it was not worth installing. The ride was an older model from 1988 anyways and Six Flags has been removing these types of rides from many of thier parks now Sfne's was only from 97 but it was said to be outside of its lifecycle. Shoot-the-Chutes still is on property. And can be seen from Rt 9 slowly rotting away. |

The move to La Ronde for the SLC wasn't that bad anyway. It did a stop over at Martin & Vleminckx warehouse which is near La Ronde to get refurbed and repainted. Only issue is that only one train was fixed up and rebuilt. The other was still in rough shape and it barely lasted the 2010 season. For 2011, the non fixed up train did not operate at all while they were rebuilding it and so, the ride had 3 hours lines all summer with one train at La Ronde! |

I don't completely believe the we were just holding it statement. There is a lot of storage space on top of the cliff at Fiesta TX. there is also about a hundred + acres of free space at SFAm. so there were better options for storage. I think overall it would have been a good addition for the GP. personally I did not want to see it because both SFNE and SFDL had them at he time. I would have rather seen a B&M invert or a small floor less similar to Batman DK at SFNE. |

coincidentally enough too, nightmare was closed for a portion of the time it was in storage there... and as much as you guys might disagree because of what other people have said, i truly do believe it was a possibility for ghost town..call me crazy, but its just what i believe. i would also like to have seen a b&m invert or floorless but pickers cant be choosers... i find the layout of Batman DK at sfne to be a very nice ride.... thrilling and fun... and to be honest, i feel if we got a b&m invert, or floorless, or some variation of a Vekoma SLC (preferably a custom...), it would tie the park together a LOT more and even bring in more revenue for six flags....also i think it would also take away the thought that everyone thinks that "oh...great escape doesnt have anything to offer....lets not go there" |

I just want to throw my statement in, since Fiesta Texas is my home park. Fiesta Texas don't own much of that land up top! Right above Superman is a mall and above rattler is a Hotel Resort/ Golf Course... But Fiesta Texas don't all that land up there! |
