Ok I'm really confused now, so going though the great escapes Facebook page I came across a very interesting photo, its from 2010 memorial day. Posted Image The banner in the background says "Six Flags Lake George" Now I know we lost our licensing for DC comics, and looney toons (which totally blows). But it really makes me think, was Six Flags really considering at some point that the were going to "Flag" The great Escape? I mean in all honesty after seeing this banner this is the closest sign I have ever scene that would acknowledge the great escape as a true six flags. Obviously this did not happen, and now there is even less hope. But wow, it makes me feel like we were just that close to becoming a true six flags park. I really wonder what made/makes it so we can't be flagged. I would love great escape to be flagged, maybe we would receive a larger budget, so it could live upto the new name, maybe some new rides. I threw together my own version of the above picture of the logo, I put this all together in Photoshop Newer Format Posted Image Older Format Posted Image Idk I think I'm just being hopeful lol Thoughts? lots of stuff says six flags in the park. I just figure they put lake George because of the tourist potential. In my opinion, a flagged Great escape would have to be called Six flags Great Escape. |

I totally agreed, I figured it would adapt the great escape named as well if it was flagged (and follow Six Flags Great Adventure). Just was the first time that I've scene six flags have marketing theta says six flags Lake George. I feel like there was a plan to flag it soon, but was all shot down though after Mark Shapiro was ousted out of the company in august 2010, then soon after we lost the budget to afford any licensed characters. It sucks because Mark Shapiro has been quotes that the great escape was his favorite park, and it just seems like we were heading in the direction of getting flagged or to receive some major licensed attraction next. Seems like it all feel apart though after we "emerged" from bankruptcy. Idk just kinda makes you think what would disney be without licensed characters? I just feel like when our park has licensed characters such as looney toons and dc comics that it brings in tourist, but when it just a random park that has no characters and or licensing ti seems like it a privately owned local park that no one would drive out of there way to see often. I just feel like there is allot of lost potential and that the park has been stuck in this ongoing awkward phase of what it should be. |

I dont see the point in ever flagging the park... You just step inside and you are hammered with six flags signs and logos!... And as long as it says " a six flags theme park" with the great escapes logo, i dont understand why they would ever be concerned. By thats just my opinion. And we are a "true" six flags park... Name has nothing to do with being a true park or not.. Just look at la ronde, theyre a six flags park without the six flags branded name.

The park has signage saying Six flags for one reason money. The banners were printed all the same except for the name below SF. it had very little to do with intent to flag the park. They had the same images at La Ronda despite not having restarted plans to flag the property. to be honest they should flag both of the parks, but it has more to do with marketing and a show of financial stability more then anything else. Don't expect TGE to get any more budget. |

Hence why we dont get any big attractions. No money in the budget. Ive always wondered how much they spend on the upkeep of the condor. Not that im complaining. I like the condor. |

haha sometimes i wish budgets for companies were revealed, like it dent have to be in details, but i love stats, would be cool to see how much six flags really attributes to the park in total each year, and how much revenue is brought in for each individual park. |

Show then a bank account with 50 million in it and I'm sure you can get the numbers. |
