Since I saw a lot of talk about the former event I though it would be a good idea to start a topic about it. what was done right, what was done wrong. what were your opinions of the event if you made it.

Please share any photos or content that might help with this thread.

i (and a good chunk of the generel public) thought it was a nice event and want it back. even if they did what moston said in the other topic, do somthing at the lodge. they probably have leftover lights and displays, put them on the outside of the hotel or maybe in the lobby, waterpark, etc.

i must say though, when they did have HIP, the sledding hill was a disappointment compared to big hills in the area or places like west mtn. When you were on the rides, it was extremly cold and seemed like they took a beating operating in the cold temperatures.

Seeing all the people on tge facebook page wanting HIP back, it could mean more season pass sales for the park

heck, even if they had 2 rides, and a couple shows I would go out into the cold. Spend more on lights in the park, really wow us with tonz to make it a spectacular walk thru. Have a big sledding hill, but have it use the path from the wave pool to the upper water park, that would leave a large and fun path. Skating was fun also, simple mod to the bumper cars.
The park is just leaving a huge opportunity sitting and not being used. After all it is a family fun park with story book roots.

I also thnk the sledding hill would be perfect from the top of the ghost town hill... And depending on the temperature, use cindys coach and the horses and let kids be able to ride with mrs. Claus, or some sort of christmas figure and dazzle the castle in lights. Also use the storytown train as a main attraction and make the route spectacular with lights and displays and everything that would catch the eye. I feel as if they shouldve used the big wheel for HIP and that would have given a great view. As for rides being harsh from the cold, why not put a few of those portable heater around the edging of the ride? And yeah maybe they would cost a little more but at least a little bit of heat would make everything more enjoyable. Personally i thought HIP was a great event. And although you could finish everything in a relitively short amount of time ( compared to regular season days spent in the park ) i fell it really spread the magic of the holiday season and i think it wouldve became a holiday tradition for a lot of people if they kept doing it.

to think, 2 years after it actually happened, people still are asking for it to come back. I honestly wonder why they have basically ignored the public.

Maybe They dont want to spend the money? Talking about six flags... It seems logical to me. But my thought is that if they actually are saving noney it could be put toward rehabs...new additions...a better experience etc..

oh well, holiday in the park is never returning, but hopefully a penny saved is a future attraction earned.

The Holiday event always intrigued me. I love the one at Santa's Village and they get a huge turnout now that people know about it.

Rides are OK in the cold, portable heaters work well and are a sleigh investment but at 350+ it's not a huge investment.

as for costs you make money. you open gift shops for shopping, food, photos with santa. you don't need all the rides open just enough to tied people over. indoor shows are a good placeholder

obviously people want the event and word will spread and attendance will increase. you can't expect it to be a blockbuster right off the bat.

Santa's Village is a family Themed park in Jefferson NH. It is one of 3 parks in the White mountains. They operate May through Oct(Columbus day) 2 days in Oct for a Halloween event, Mid November though New years eve.

here is a park photo overview of the park I created a while back:
