I liked the old sign better, too be honest! The new sign is crisp, yet boreing. Yeah the demon is the first coaster you see, but hardly the wow factor! (If that coaster in the sign is supposed to represent the front view of the park)

I was just thinking that they better not touch the sign this morning completely randomly...now I know why...

i felt like the the old sign was much more "homey" and fit in with its surroundings better. I wonder if in another season of two if we will see "Six Flags Great Escape" on the sign.... Also, if you read the article that went along with the pictures, i hope this huge electrical upgrade means more frequent new and exciting rides and attractions in the future.

and Moston, the coaster on the new sign is Boomerang.

ALSO i contacted the park and they said all rides that operated last year will be operating this year. no surprise closures like trabant last year!

^Are you blind? The image clearly shows the cobra roll of the Boomerang, the corkscrews on SD are in the same direction. You see the station in the picture as well, the image just cuts off before the lift hills would start.

Based on this picture on the Great Escape's facebook page, it looks safe to say the Comet's path is no longer...nothing confirmed but based on the pic, it looks gone. Unless they are going to repave the path somewhere eventually... Great Escape always finds ways to squeeze little things in tiny places.

*UPDATE*
Alpine Freefalls' public opening is pushed back to June 2nd instead of its original projected opening date of May 26th.

I'd assume that they'd re-pave the path again somewhere underneath the structure. It's strange how this kind of makes SWK even more sprawled out. I think that it would make sense to make the end of the path behind Alpine Bobsled/Giant Wheel an additional SWK entrance with a new sign. I'm mostly curious to see where the end-pool for Alpine Freefalls gets put.

I'm pretty sure the is is using the water run not a pool.

^Yeah, thats what I meant...it's hard to tell if it's going to run parallel to Comet, but that appears to be the only way to route it.
