ride names bring in people, kids can not drive them selves to parks, and parents take their kids to things based on value. Looney tunes theme was value timber town is not value. As for SFNE, maybe they took more time seeing as they have more money spent on the park. Also they had some kind of media day. With rides like Bizzaro (superman) Batman and othres, I wonder why that park is nicer looking...

You're basically setting up the guest to be disappointed when you used comic book characters because these aren't theme parks. What ever happened to creativity and individuality? Why do people in our society today need to be constantly stimulated by cross-promotions, pop culture, and marketability? I think it's a pretty cool idea for Great Escape to have its own set of characters based on something truly unique, it's beautiful setting in a natural mountain range and forest. Timbertown works very well in this way and I think it provides a rare glance back to the early days of Storytown.

Ride names DO NOT bring in people. People don't even know the names of the rides they're on unless it is completely in their face constantly, like a universal or disney park. If you have a badly themed DC comics coaster and a generic coaster named "Nitro," and one is purple and one is yellow, they will be referred to respectively by the average guest as "the purple one" and "the tall yellow one."

Someone said earlier that the best advertisement for Great Escape is being able to see it from the Northway. Well when you looked at the park, you weren't seeing a bunch of logos for Batman and Looney Tunes, you were seeing colorful fun looking rides, and you certainly didn't know the names of them. Rides and roller coasters advertise themselves, we as enthusiasts should know this. We've all seen commercials for parks where they show video of a Boomerang and they make it look like the best most fun thing ever built; it may not be true but they sure as hell make it look like it is. That's all you need for advertising, not 70 year old cartoons and superheroes. The two Green Lantern coasters are the stupidest themed rides ever made. WHAT EXACTLY other than being painted green do they have to do with the superhero? ITS SO FREAKING DUMB.

Dude did you come on here just stir up trouble? Seirously like every one of your posts from the past few days sound so argumentative and in-your-face.. just sayin. You don't have to use all caps to yell, and that's what it sounds like ur tryin to do.

I'm attempting to engage people in an intellectual debate, though it doesn't seem to be working very well if the only posts responding to me are off-topic ones like yours that bring nothing to the table other than complaints. I will use all caps occasionally whenever I feel the need because I'M EXASPERATED. People make one line posts to argue a point and say nothing to back them up. I'm a realistic person who would enjoy to have a conversation about Great Escape, and this is how I post. If you're taking offense from a person on a message board, you may be a little thin-skinned.

Funny thing is my 5 yr old daughter just asked me to guess her favorite ride at TGE. We guessed all the rides she could ride on, and she says no to them all. So then she says "the Looney Toon's coaster" That what was exciting to her, friendly colorful toons (cartoons in general). Not Moose, Beavers, fox, coons or bears. We teach our kids to stay away away from wild creatures like those. ( You might argue wildy coyote, but he did not resemble the wild life here)

There is a lot in a name but it doesn't mean it needs to be a name attached to an intellectual property. Though Intellectual properties an be big draws. Parents now their kids will get excited over some characters. This makes the attractions and in turn the park more desirable. But TGE is not a mainstream park. it is a Tourist park with a reasonably good local appeal.

I think the new Timber town name and theme is good. I think the characters look a bit foolish. but over all i don't thin it matters much to the tourists that visit the park on vacation.

Little kids don't watch Looney Tunes any more
Lol just want to point out that Cartoon Network airs older cartoons in the mornings and also has a new Looney Toons show airing now that features Bugs, Daffy, Porky, and a bunch of other characters. Little kids DO know who these characters are and will continue to do so. While I personally am glad the licensing is gone, I can't help but reply to this. Bugs is a very old character, the whole gang is, and they're beloved characters that won't be dying any time soon.

On that note, I was at TGE yesterday and was greatly amused by the Taz swings which was just a bunch of disembodied arms.

There are a few ways to see old looney toons. stick with those

The new Looney Toons show on CN is horrible. The shows are violent and the stories are just stupid. non of the quality of the original show. The voices aren't even close, not sure who was in charge of the hiring.

I will not let any of my nieces and nephews watch it. they are 2,3,3, and 8. to be honest any parent should not let a child under 14 watch it.
