Why can't TGE build a custom coaster to fit around the current layout. I know it would be expensive, but scrap metal is up in price, and the canyon blaster could bring in some cash that way...ha ha ha j/k six flags really did a great job upgrading TGE with the blaster --cough cough-- |

Canyon Blaster won't be going anytime soon. I doubt much whill happen with Ghost Town in the future in terms of removign rides other than the Nightmare... When Six Flags bought the park, there was an agreement that the Steamin' Demon can't be removed.. It must have had some kind of time line in place, but it's on a manmade hill specifically made for it and still gets a good amount of riders |

and as for canyon blaster, it is probably the best themed ride in the park. canyon blaster AND steamin demon and both hitting a top speed of 45 mph so just because canyon blaster doesnt have loops doesnt mean its a bad ride. |

its not that the canyon blaster is a bad ride, its just that once you hit the fastest point the ride is over :-/ |

In the last three quarters, Six Flags has restructured its workforce and cut jobs, including an undisclosed number of positions locally. It pared down its licensing agreements, eliminating brands such as "The Wiggles" from parks like Great Escape. The dancing Mr. Six character used in much of Six Flags' advertisements has been phased out, in favor of campaigns that focus on the thrill of the experience and local offerings. Ticket discounting was controlled, and prices adjusted upward slightly. And all parks have developed five-year plans with goals to introduce something new - big or small - every year and more evenly distribute capital expenditures. "With a one-year capital plan (under the previous leadership), the company would react very quickly to money we had, and it tended to go in large chunks to one or two parks," Reid-Anderson said. These changes are already evident in Queensbury. Prices at the gate are up 2 percent, or about $1. Wiggles World has been rebranded Kidzopolis and its three rides renamed. And a five-year plan for introducing new attractions is under way. "Great Escape has some excitement every year," Reid-Anderson said. "Some of it will be smaller, some of it will be midsize and some of it will be bigger." Most of the changes in 2011 involve "freshening-up" existing product and entertainment, as no new attractions are scheduled to be added this season. HERE IT IS! Straight from the Goons mouth. Maybe something in 2014. My time and money is on SFNE next 3 years!! |

you know the canyon blaster is the one big coaster I can bring my daughter on, so yeah I do enjoy it, however I just wish the park had more then just kid rides. As my daughter gets taller she will want to go on bigger rides, and yeah the comet is the one she has her eye on. Then SFNE will replace the fun of TGE. I grew up going to TGE and I want my daughter to enjoy it like I did. |

That's is exactly what was said company wide a few months ago. I doubt they will wait 4 years to add something new. It is though hard to say what they will be approved for. as for those of you that want to just run to SFNE. your actually doing more harm then good. Running off to another park will just promote the need to expand that park over TGE. Might want to consider driving a bit further to Lake Compounce. or Canobie lake park. LC has a new Mega disco on top of their Boulderdash wood coaster. Canobie is adding Untamed a Euro fighter for 2011. but if you want to see addition to TGE you need to visit. post comments if there is a comment box. make suggestions of things you want to see but keep the in reason. |

Your right, they wont invest in TGE if they can draw you in elsewhere without a loss. They kinda did this with the parking deal. wonder how many people went to SFNE for their season pass. I mean, I am not going to SFNE as much seeing as I have to drop money to park, but many people might do the opposite. |

Now that the parking pass is park specific I wonder what this will do for the park. I bought a pass this year at Gadv because it opens so early but will get a parking pass at TGE because that is where I will visit quite frequently. As long as TGE can have a good year maybe next year can be promising. I'm trying to be optimistic. |

Ya that might end up hurting them. They should be at least offering a discount. TGE is 3 hours from me and to add 15 dollars on top of 40 in gas, then normally park coasts it make TGE a hard sell. But if I had to chose between SFNE and TGE I would chose TGE. I find it better cared for and I enjoy my trips better. I have a much better coaster being added to my home park, Canobie lake and I have been on all of SFNE coasters hundreds of times. |

even though TGE is not as thrilling as i would like, it is certainly a nice place to have a little fun with friends and family. i spend most of my ride time on the comet anyways. |

on the subject of the comet, the lift hill is kinda fast, faster then some other wooden coasters, is that design or just do they control the speed |

I also take a lot of rides on comet. But it's also with eh exception of a couple areas a nice park to walk around. as for Comets lift the tork is controlled by maintenance and the motor bought. |
