from what i know, that was just to upgrade the electrical stuff and make it a bit more efficient. just like you said.
but im not positive on that. it takes a lot of power to run sasquatch too so that may have something to do with it?

Well Great Escape basically denies the existence of the italian roller coaster, the Steamin Demon is always advertised as their first roller coaster. And about the Wild Mouse, I could be wrong, but that's just what I was told. I know there was issues between Canobie and SFNE regarding the eurofighter. And there are a few places in the park for some flat rides, the'd just have to be a lil creative.. that old Cine 180 budiling with the arcade is vacant, the old Chippers mystery ride building, there's a bunch of room towards the back near the picnic grove, it would just have to be developed a bit

yes, i dont understand why they deny the italian roller coaster. it really doesnt make sense. and really they cant because there IS picture proof of it and it is on park maps. but anywho. i never thought about those places, i know chippers is used for ride storage during the offseason and storage during the regular season though. so you made a good point, there are spots, but it would be like a giant puzzle

Greatescapelover, There is a couple flaws in what you are saying. First, Canobie and SFNE are in no way related to each other other than that they are competitors, therefore, they wouldn't have switched addition plans, although i could see SNFE getting the wild mouse as a result of Canobie gettign Untamed. Also, Italian Roller Coaster was not a wild mouse coaster, but actually a zyclon or galaxy style ride.

as i said, i wasnt positive about the wild mouse/euro fighter thing. thats what was thrown around on the sfne forums and screamscape and all of those. hence why i said i was not positive. just hear say stuff. and also, italian roller coaster was a pinfari Z40 model, but is still technically under the accredation of a type of wild mouse coaster.Thats why i almost always say in my posts that i am unceration and not positive about everything.

From what I heard the problem with the Eurofighter was something to do with Gerstlaur as well and SFNE and Canobies proximity to eachother.

Canobie has been known to have Non compete clauses with their major ride additions. SFNE would have not been able to ah A euro fighter without having to pay Canobie to do so.

I also find it strange they they would deny the existence of the Italian coaster.

yes exactly. i knew sfne and canobie's additions had at least a little something to do with each other. but what does make sense to me is that why that kind of stuff became an issue between the two parks when they are owned and operated by different companies.hmmmm.... can anyone clear that up?

i wonder if charlie wood had any doing in denying the existance? but it still wouldnt make sense. possibly to make the park sound more interesting? LOL prolly not. just a theory.

It doesn't matter who the parks are run by or anything it's the fact that two eurofighters couldn't be built within a ertain radius of the one, and SFNE is too close to Canobie which got to it first

And what is the reasoning to why two eurofighters can be built in the same radius of each other?

Also sixflagsman, good point. Anyone know if there is any truth to if there was ever an accident on italian coaster?

Just what mrceagle was saying. Canobie has been known to have non compete clauses with their major attractions and in this instance that's what most likely happe ed

Maybe if i explain the non compete clause a bit further it will help. Anon compete is a contract between 2 parties. in this case canobie and a ride company. It restricts the ride company from selling the same attraction to a park within a certain distance. In Canobie's case enough to monopolize New England. This account for no addition to be added in the first couple of year at all and then for a set time after that without permission form the contracting party(canobie). Even there the park wanting the similar ride would have to pay a fee to cover possible business losses since they are adding a similar ride.

This has been done with Canobie's water rides (flume and Chute) in both cases it affected SFNE/Riverside and prevented then form getting a Hopkins water ride.

Canobie is a medium sized family owned park. they don't have to ability that SFNE dose to barrow money form other parks like TGE to move forward to to grow. So they need to protect their bottom line they do that by protecting their investments instead of goign after the guests.

SFI has never really worried about non competes because many of their parks away form other competition. They also buy in bulk. Larger parks seem more interested in outdoing the other with a different attraction and will shift gears away form similar rides.

On a side not I hope you all have had an opportunity to see what New England has going this year.
