I really wanted to post about this last October but completely forgot. I don't know how many of you went last year to Fight Fest but did any one notice the signs as you first enter the park that said you could buy a light up necklace that would keep you from being scared by one of the performers. WTH was Great Escape management thinking! Really..... did anybody actually purchase them? They were selling them for like $4. I would have seen if that money was a deposit for them and you got your money back once you returned the necklace. |

This was actually a company wide promotion. They hoped that it would lead to more families staying at the park later into the night, and thus, spending more money. But I have to say it seemed like a complete failure, because not only did I not see one person with one, but it would have a negative effect on the other guests' experience at the park. |

I work at Great Adventure and each year we give out whistles for the kids to use if they do not want to get scared by a goul. |

My home park, Canobie Lake Park in Salem NH, Sells the Monster protection/Be-Gone Necklaces. Many people buy then and it dose not affect the quality of the event. They can be use din the haunts as well as around the park. In haunt performers simply don't scare the person walking through. the attendant at the entrance will lump the people using them together in one group to allow those looking to be scared to not be affected by them. walk around characters have a much larger job. They both scare and pose for guests. for those with the necklaces they are trained to react to them. back off react like a vampire to garlic. Small children had a blast with it and many guest thought it was fun to watch.
