TGE getting Dark Knight?

I'd say either La Ronde or Great Escape will get the SFNE Dark Knight next year.

One slight issue for La Ronde is that they already got a small wild mouse (from Zamperla...). So logically, they'd have to remove the wild mouse before installing the Dark Knight. The La Ronde wild mouse doesn't have foundations, its just laid out on a concrete pad, so they could rebuild it inside the Nightmare building at Great Escape.

That would work, but it sounds like it would just be so much moving around. And I believe Montreal does not want branded theming because Six Flags only has the park on a lease. Dark Knight would be a branded coaster and if Six Flags were to back down, it would need to be re-themed. That, I believe, is why they have Goliath and not S:ROS and Le Vampire insted of Batman. That may also be why they do not have Looney Tunes characters at La Ronde.

It was mentionned by the GM that La Ronde would be getting Looney Tunes this year... but nothing came out of it and instead, they're getting a Go-Karts track!

Six Flags has to be careful with what they do with La Ronde, the language fanatics would be on their case if they added something with an english name first.

I posted a statement that said "any one with a real desire to travel to ride the coaster would more then likely ride it at SFGAdv in 2007." i stand by it People like enthusiasts that really want to ride BDK will simply go to the nearly SFGAdv location. The arguments against that statement do not back up your believing I'm wrong. All the statement I read gave me the Expression that many of you visit TGE for the experience. if that is the trough them getting or not getting the dark night has no affect on you visiting TGE. it would simply be another coaster.

On a more practical not., Why would they move a coaster to TGE when they have a coaster sitting in storage waiting to be installed. Also if they plan to put another coaster in The nightmare building why would they ship them a coaster that isn't themed to a western theme. The ride has a City/industrial theme. The coasters cars are themed to a Subway car. In a business sense TGE is the last place this coaster should go.

As for LA Ronda It dose seem like they are unable to add themed. A BTR clone was added under the simple name The Bat. A few years back a family area was added with a custom Character.

While it may make sense at SFMM, there are faults. SFMM can't compete with Disney and Universals dark rides. Knotts Berry Farm even used that as a reason to remove their dark rides.

La Ronde doesn't have themed things like Looney Tunes and Batman etc, because of Canadien Licensing. I go to La Ronde all the time...."The Bat"? nope. Le Vampire, or The Vampire, is the BTR clone. The wild mouse is a decent ride themed on bobsleds.

I would love to see the Dark Knight at TGE. I love TGE and go there almost as many times as I do La Ronde. I compeltely agree, more thrilling flats, but more importantly and contrary to someone else, TGE is in DESPERATE need for a new decent coaster. Painting the boomerang does not do it.

The Dark Knight is garbage. Believe me, the Great Escape is better off without it. It is my opinion, but I have read online about many people who share the view.

We would be so much better getting something similar to Carowinds Nickelodeon™ Flying Super Saturator.

That is a family ride with an edge!

And, if you like wet rides, it doesn't get much wetter.

This news was confirmed by ACE News. Given the ride selection in Mexico and the attendance it will be a good addition for them. TGE needs the tower ride much more then a coaster.

I'm pretty sure those have TERRIBLE capacity though. Roller Soaker at Hersheypark has the one of the longest lines in the park all the time, right there with the Comet and Storm Runner. Comet's line never moves, and roller soaker breaks quite a bit, and its always at least 30 minutes, and IMO it was just slow and boring...

The capacity is pretty crappy. especially for the size of land it takes up. TGE has a pretty got Coaster selection. well size wise. the ones they have aren't all that memorable. What TGE needs is flat rides especially upper end family and thrill rides.

Can someone tell me why the dark knight ride ended up not going to SFNE and why it went to mexico? Just curious but can't find anything on it.
