You'd think they could still use some of that stuff, like the giraffe/old west carriage, as themeing or something. It would add to the park and wouldn't cost them anything.

maybe I shouldn't have looked at these,I found it so sad the way they have just let these things go,and what a complete waste.I grew up going there in the 70's and early 80's.I now have been back a few times and wanted pix of all my kids on the 99 trains, they were gone last trip,2007 and now seeing those photos just makes me sad. Those skyway rides that went over the park have been gone over 20 years.I always wondered what happened to the gorilla that was at the entrance to Jungleland .Also I was there in 99 and it was still Jungleland then but the area was a mess, very overgrown! In the back you could still see the board up between 2 trees but the large ape was gone,I always wondered if it had simply fallen among the massive pine trees and foliage had just grown over it!Also when I was there in 07 you could see the girrafes and stuff behind a building when you rode the raging river.I wish I could have gotten my hands on that castle that used to be near Cinderella's coach, just a shame!

These photos are very sad indeed. What a waste. I used to run the 99 trains and they were in great shape, and people loved them. This is interesting to see but I can only imagine what the park is like today....not the same as I remember.

As for the carriages that seems to be a mystery... I read somewhere that they were originally in the now closed Palisades amusement park in Fairview NJ. Also I have relative in NJ who were shocked at how those carriages looked exactly like the ones on the skyride in Palisades amusement park. So I have a feeling that is where those carriages came from.

Oh man he little trains! I remember them..were they still around when the Boomerang opened? I think I remember riding them while my mom and my older brother rode the Boomerang..because, although I was tall enough, my mom wouldn't let me ride the boomerang, she said I wouldn't like it. the next year, I went on it when she didn't go with us, loved it.

But man it's odd when you don't even notice some things are gone..I feel bad for that.

Also: Perhaps they store some fright fest things there so they WILL rot..I mean, having a clean looking car isn't very scary, is it? the rotting cars have a perfect look for fright fest, thus it's logical they would store them outside like that.

Man I wish there were more pictures.

I have no idea where Popo went, and I don't think Moby Dick is in the boneyard anymore, but as of this summer, things haven't really changed since these 2007 pictures. Some of the Jungleland props are now at the very front of the boneyard entrance along with the Guerilla from the Jungleland building and many of those old animal drinking fountains.

I honestly think Danny the Dragon can be saved...the frame is very much intact after inspecting it and the flooring and mechanical equipment would need a complete replacement but the most crucial part is that the metal frame has survived the elements since the 90s because of the various times it was repainted during its tenure at Freedomland and Storytown/TGE. Only some parts have eroded to the actual metal framework, others have various layers of paint on them.

Thanks. I will probably head back up there in about a week or so, and grab some shots of The Skylab and some other various photos.

If you can, you should ask about the (old) Tornado and perhaps get some photos of the pieces still on the lot.

Hersheypark did with the Balloons Starship America and Bizzy Bees. Kennywood did with the Bayern Curve and are planning to bring back the Turnpike round 2011. It does happen maybe not so much at SFI parks with its downtime=death policy

PoPo is actually back there. It's sitting next to the old Pink Whale. I'll snap some updated photos when I can, although nothing much has gotten added since I took the photos.
