Just starting a post for NPC ideas. Jalia Doorne looks like your every day human peasant. Unwashed, and unadorned, she moves silently through society the way she likes, unnoticed. Jalia is the daughter one of the worlds bardic geniuses, and most beautiful courtesans. She is a fighter, that simple. Her attitude towards life, people, and too many questions is the same, it must be drunk under the table, and ignored. Benefits: Great Appeal, bad Charisma. Dexterous Fighter, rather than a Strong-Arm. She works as a thug for a thieves guild. |

Sometimes it's fun to play with character concepts from shows, books, and movies. Like, imagine if you took the basic concept of Gabrielle (from Xena) and twisted it. You could have a LN fighter with a very tender and inexperienced bard cohort. Gabrielle was a bard first and then became an Amazon princess later; what if an Amazon-type princess wanted to be a bard rather than a straight-up, kill 'em all warrior? Or you could make a character with part of Joxer's concept - he was the "black sheep" of his evil family. |

Or when the 3 foot tall hobbit Samwise Gamgee found himself in possession of the ONE RING to rule them all. he decided that he really didn't like gardening, but he sure liked nice gardens. Snap Snap, slave trim that bush |

Swords and Dark Shadows The cast of NPC Characters (info coming soon) Cailiya: Merith's familiar, a hobby. She is sentient, and often serves as Meriths sound board, and best of friends. Aistlyn Trey: A finder from Shylentam. She was used agaisnt her will by Hiro's older brother Kharo in Bryll four years before the time of the Swords and Dark Shadows Saga begins. She meets Hiro in the hallway outside his brothers inn room on her way to assassinate Kharo in revenge for what he did. She spent four years training to kill him. Hiro convinces her to let him bring justice to his brother for his actions. She agrees and tells him she'll help the party find his sister, because that is what she is able to do. Hailiya Shadowfingers: A perky halfling rogue from Halonnaer, who is a loyal compatriot of Aistlyn Trey. She meets the party in Sakashiro when her attempt to lift the rich money belt of the Prince Ammakiru is foiled by Merith Hawkthorne's honest nature. She has urges to gut him, but holds them off when Aistlyn tells her too, under mysterious circumstances. Her and Hiro have a fling. Jarok Stormhammer: A mysterious, boisterous dwarf from Kirodankil, who is clanless after his clan was mysteriously and brutally murdered. Jarok has an odd personality and is sometimes taken by a fey mood which makes him easier to anger than normal (for a dwarf). His eyes sometimes scare Aistlyn. Other than that he is a merry fellow, who loves to steal money from others by gambling at dice games such as Wolfshead. Laanaka (Urakar Ftr 6/Rog 2) Galilam Dinoorn (half-Amazai, half-war elf Ftr 6/ Rog 2): She is bonded telepathically with Laanaka. Tarak Dur-Shalor Jayeed Ibhan-Jharoul: One of the nemesis' of the game's heroic character Hiro. A former slave, and property of Hiro, he grew jealous, and violently angry towards Hiro during their seven month adventurers together. When Hiro freed him, Jayeed attacked and nearly killed Hiro in order to get the Dawn Stone. He took the stone, and Ryshae Dayal east to Jhysanroth where he sold her and left for parts unknown. He now serves the Kishaine Lord Arioch, and the vile human from Toraadiro known as Caziriel the Black. He is the one that provides breeding partners for the Demon Princes of the Darkened Lands. Hiro's sister Ishikaru was stolen and sold to him. Ryshae Dayal: Hiro's lost love, she is believed to have died 11 years before the story that takes place in the Sword and Dark Shadows Saga. Hiro discovers later that she was still alive until a year ago when she died of a sickness which was unknown to the doctors who examined her. She has a half-war elf daughter (Hiro's own) who is eleven. Adoryn Dayal: A mystic, and the half-war elven daughter of Hiro Tatakai. She is a strong mystic even at the age of eleven. This and her mothers death might be related to the Dawn Stone, a Shaper's stone of immense power which Hiro discovered in the ruins of an ancient temple south of Aylannis in the Empire of Basan-Rho. More to come Glossary Mystic = Sorcerer Mage = Wizard Wizard = PRC Wizard from Midnight Finder = A character who has an innate ability to track down the location of people, places, and things. Champion = Paladin Soldier = Fighter Knight = Knight Class. |

You know, I'd never heard of a hobby bird before. I'd heard of falcons, but not that particular type. It's actually a very nice looking bird and nimble, too. |

Drace, the member here who plays Merith Hawkthorne, likes to find obscure animals as familiars, just to see my face stare blankly back as I try to comprehend him. So I was edumicated as well. |

Aaaahhhh. Very cute! Well, at least it isn't the same old thing every time. I adapted the Elemental Archon prestige class for the wizard in our main D&D campaign, and she likes having her fire mephits hanging around her. They've been around long enough to have learned Common and they can be pretty vocal about what they don't like. What other sorts of animals has he chosen? |
