I finally got my hands on Dungeons and Dragons for Dummies today and I have to say this: if you know someone new to the game, this book can help them learn their way around. The book can also give them tips on how to choose classes, feats, and such. There are some good things for new DMs as well.

For myself, I have yet to find anything in it that I can use. The authors promise a bit of material for more experienced folks but I have yet to find it. For the most part I'm happy because if I ever get a fresh gamer around me, I'll have a good indoctrination tool. I'm only a little bit disappointed that there wasn't a section for more advanced things but I realize they were under page constraints.
