I didn't know they were doing a Dragons of Autumn Twilight movie. I mean, I thought Dragonlance was all but dead now of days. I guess the second D&D movie gave them hope?

I had heard they were from the IMDB boards, but they didn't have a link to it. It was due to the 2nd D&D movie that gave them 'hope' that this would exceed expectations and "maybe" more would be made.

It is interesting that they are going to make it an animated film rather than live-action; a lot is going to rest on how well the animation is done. At the very least they have Lucy Lawless doing a voice. =)

I liked the book when I read it, and it happens to be Valefor's favorite Dragonlance novel. We both highly enjoyed listening to Margaret Weis at the San Diego Comic Con a while back. She is one hell of an entertaining lady. So we'll probably see it when it comes out.

Those are my favorite books too! Had my son read them, he got totally addicted to D&D after that. B)

I too was a bit surprised it was animated, but they can do so much more for less. I think, if they stay true to the story the way they say they are going to, they will draw a huge fan base, which will give them the profit to do more of the books.

To be honest I just can't stand dragonlance at all. I've never liked playing in Krynn, and the books were eh. The book that I would love to see made into a movie, is the Icewind dale trilogy by R.A.Salvatore. I've always been more into Forgotten Realms then Dragon Lance.
