So, my school is being a real gem this month.

First, I owe them money because I didn't take a full 12 units last quarter - I took 11. But the fuckers don't charge by the unit, oh no! They charge by every so many units instead of what you actually take. Fine.

Then, my department called and said that the grades for the class I taught hadn't shown up in the system. I got them in the day we did grades together, over a week ago. So now I look bad. Joy.

I also found something I was supposed to turn in by Tuesday, but I found it today.

The online web system that I was trying to use so my class could download stuff via the school's system - hasn't been set up. Though I did everything they asked. Figures. I'm thinking of just putting the stuff on my web space and setting it up on my own.

Needless to say, I am going to school on Friday to see what I can get cleared up before the absolute hectic day that Monday is bound to be. This is going to be difficult, what with the strength of the siren song that is The Sims 2: Open for Business. But I must get to school, I must! At least to try to get a parking pass ahead of time....

I like that comic, Dave.

The other day I was driving in my car and the same song that Depeche Mode sings for the Sims came on the radio. There were parts of it that still sounded like Simlish to me...

:o

As much as I'd like to take credit for that comic, I believe you owe your thanks to DR, not myself. Personally? I don't see what's so tempting. Sims are nowhere near entertaining for me, but to each their own.

It is fun to torture them though. With the Sims2 you get a nice list of things your sim will get points for doing during the day and a list of what will make them loose points. Force them to do the point loosers all day long, its fun cause it makes this bunny thing fall from the sky. Turns out when Sims get sad, they turn on to furries <_<

Also, Sims are stupid. First time I played Sims2 (which was the first time I played any Sims game) I didn't place a phone or smoke alarm in my house then promptly spent all my money on decorations. Kitchen cathes fire. The family stood their screaming at the fire for a day and a half as it consumed the kitchen, dining room, living room office, then the bedrooms. Then my sims died dispite ushering them outside because they would use the next avaible oprotunity to run inside to scream at the fire some more. :banghead:

I never thought I would be a person to love The Sims, but I do and I have for a long time now.

Oh, I stopped by my school today. I went to the parking office first to see if I could get a new permit and it turned out that they closed at 12:30. I mean, c'mon, 12:30 on the last business day before the new quarter starts?? I wasn't the only one who was pissed off. I'm not sure if it's going to be cost-effective for me to get a quarterly pass, however, since they raised the fee to $75 a quarter and I'll only be there 2 days a week; I'll tend to that on Monday.

The sheet that I'd forgotten to turn in - it turned out that it wasn't that bloody big of a deal and others were turning it in late too.

I dropped off a fuckload of library books that were left over from my last research paper, and by the time I got to my department it was closed so I couldn't pick up my check. Joy.

But! There is unabashedly good news! I managed, by the hairs on my chinny chin chin, to keep my 4.0 GPA for another quarter. I finally got it in my head to check my grades today and I got an A in my class. Whew! If I do have that professor again before I'm done, I'll do a much better job for him, cause he rocks.

Oh, and today while I was driving Rage Against the Machine came on and I realized, for the first time, that they had lines from 1984 in their lyrics. I swear, I do one little paper on 1984 and come to realize that it's everywhere - but no one really heeds it.

I enjoyed 1984, and recommend everyone read it at some point. It's amazing how similar some things are going in RL. It was a pretty good year too, seeing as at that time I was in 3rd grade. Recess rules! :D

I was born in 1984 :P

It was a good book though. That and Slaughterhouse 5 were my favorite "for school" books.

I loved 1984. When I first read it, the ending got me so upset that I actually hurled the book across the room- before picking it up to read again.

Congrats on the grades, Kismet. All of that hard work paid off!
