Dru' looks at Jack and winces, then smiles. "Thanks Jack. That does feel better."

Dru looks uncertainily at Thrug.

"Um, Thrug, can I search those first?"

Rúmil, realizing that time was of the essence and noting that no party member was on death's door, quickly went to the bodies of the goblins.

"We must act quickly. If I can stabilize either of them we might be able to find out some information."

With that Rúmil began to apply his art (skill) of healing.

As Thrug pulled the bodies out from the forest, Jack bent down to search what was left of them for anything of value. Rummaging through their pockets, he located 30 gold pieces and a ornate silver flask which contained a thick dark brown liquid inside. One smell of it made Jack's nose wrinkle in disgust and he quickly stoppered it back up.

Rumil knelt down next to the bodies to attempt to heal either of them but quickly realized that it was hopeless. Thurg's blows had mangled the bodies so horribly that there was no healing that would bring them back. One goblin's head had been chopped clean of it's shoulders and the other was cut almost into two pieces.

Thurg checked out the wagon but again noticed it was in no shape to be used. Whomever had attacked the merchant who was still hanging from the tree had made sure that the wagon was busted beyond repair.

Satisfied the wagon was well out of anyones way, Thrug moved his attention to the hanging merchant. Standing well away from the pit and using a quick motion to reach into the tree with his blood soaked sword to snap the rope and catch the merchant as she fell. Thrug sat the merchant on the road near the trees. "Mean ol goblins hurt lady then hang lady from tree. If goblins have weapons why they not slay her?"

Sighing about the condition of the bodies, Rúmil stood and spoke aloud to the group, "I understand the desire to rid the world of these filthy creatures. Believe me, I understand more than most. But if we encounter more of these creatures please try to take one alive if possible. Information is what we desperately need, and these creatures seem to know something we don't. After we have the information, then we can send them on their path...to the afterlife."

With the closing words Rúmil's lips curled into what might look like a snarl. Obviously by his candor he'd run into goblins before and was none too happy to be dealing with them again. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts Rúmil turned his attention to Jack who seemed to be looking for tracks. "Here, let me give you a hand Jack. I've got some skill when it comes to finding tracks. Perhaps we can trace these goblins back to where they came from and extract the information from their kin."

Upon hearing Rumil's words and his offer to help, I breath a sigh of relief "Sure why not, two sets of eyes is better than one" I continue to search the area

Rumil and the others scoured the area looking for any hint as to where the goblins had come from. They found a set of broken limbs and stamped underbrush near where the goblins had been hiding but quickly lost the trail after several feet into the woods.

Convinced the battle was over and that all the particular of the situation had been acounted for Thrug took his journal and pen from his bag. Carefully sitting on the broken wagon he dipped his pen in the dark ink and began to write:

day fortefor
thrug did good! thrug kill to goblon mens. goblin mens hurt girl then tied girl to tree to dies. goblon mens needed dieing. thrug almost to city with good foods. thrug love good foods but friends keep messing with dead goblon mens and girl. we could be at city by now!

Thrug blew on the page once to make sure the ink was dry and closed his journal and packed his gear back in his bag. Standing up he looked longingly at the direction of Lugard then back at the group to see if they were ready to go.

“No one can find a thing, let alone tracks in this underbrush. Obviously we’ve done what we can.” Rúmil’s voice seemed distant, and yet frustrated. His mind already working on how to get the information they needed.

Rúmil glanced over to see Thurg who had just finished writing something down, stand up and look towards the village. Sometimes, Rúmil thought, others find the path for you. Rúmil cleared his throat and spoke to the others, “Perhaps we should move on. Thurg seems intent on getting to the village, and I can’t say I’m against that. Someone there should know what’s going on here.”
