Upon hearing the loud crash, Jack whispers " Dru', everything alright?" He preceeds to head back ever so slowly toward the loud crash. When he finds out everything is alright he proceeds normally, emerging out from the gorest to tell his party members what he has found out. Onve back with the group "Well a body was moved, so maybe someone is still alive." "I mean why go through the trouble of dragging a body into the woods, and leave this mess here?"*pointing to the now demolished wagon* |

"There must be a lair near by. How long would you want to drag a body for?" "Lets look for a path that horses would be able to traverse." |

The group continued their search but the only obvious pathway was the one that they were on leading towards Lugard. |

Thrug gave the wagon one final look. Between damaged wheels, broken axle and lack of horse Thrug figured he should probably just leave it alone. He could probably drag it to the city, but it may be better to just buy a new one. He turned to the others who still seemed intent on hanging around the wagon even though it was no longer on its side and out of the middle of the road. "Thrug getting hungey and wagons not taste good." The whens and whys Thrug had a chance to taste a wagon went unanswered. "I bet they have yummie treats in city. Lots of people always means good eating!" |

"as funny as this sounds, but Thrug, your words are wise, and I suggest we adhere to them" Jack surveys the scene, add looks toward the city of lugard. "I am getting hungry, and rations are good and all, but I need a hot meal." |

Satisfied that nothing else was to be found at the site of the attack the party ventured further down the path. It seemed that the bandit attacks had not been isolated as they found signs of struggle more than once, but like the first, none held any clues until they rounded a bend approximately a quarter mile from the first attack. They found a site similar to the first, a wagon overturned and looted. As well as signs of struggle, but this one was different. Hanging from a tree on the edge of the path was a body. A closer look showed it to be the corpse of a female. She appeared to have been left on the path for at least a day or so, but her body appeared to have been beaten brutally. A small glint of gold glinted from beneath her shirt where a necklace apparently still hung around her neck. Skill Checks Used: Spot ooc; when a grid map is shown, please detail your movements by move increments. Ex. 5 ft south, 10 ft west. The top of the map will always represent North when making this distinction. Each square equals 5 feet.

"don't touch the body" "Its too obvious of a trap" Jack disapears into the woods, without a sound(hopefully) He moves North three squares, and west 3 to scout. If at this point he sees nothing, he will move up to the rear of the hang body searching for traps, and such. |

Dru' looked around, trying to spot some one who did this. Ooc: A spot and listen check as a standard action, please. If I dont see anyone, then: Then, Ill attempt to bluff the people hiding into thinking I see them. 4+3 bluff skill. |

Jack moved slowly into the woods searching for anyone hiding but found nothing. He slowly made his way around to the back of the body hanging from the tree searching for anything out of the ordinary but he found no traps. Meanwhile, the sorcerer scanned the treelines listening for any movement, but she saw or heard nothing. Suddenly she yelled out towards the forest. "I see you." but there was no response. ooc: skill checks used: Spot, Search, Bluff ooc2: Just in case in becomes important, the woods are very dense with a lot of undergrowth. Should a combat break out somewhere along this path, any movement through the woods is at a reduced rate of speed by half. The woods also offer concealment. ooc3: Just because I post a map doesn't mean you're going to see combat, it just means there's something important in that scene. Please don't use that info to metagame in a way that your character would not normally act. ![]() |

A corpse hanging from a tree. Even his barbarious cousins from the neighboring tribes would slay a person, not leave them to die on the end of a rope. Up to this point the devistated merchant carts had not affected him but this did. This seemed more recent, more fresh. This battle didn't seem over. Thrug drew his sword. The massive blade would prove too much for a normal person to swing, it was even a little too much for Thrug to handle one handed. The hulking brute had to lift the weapon above his head for the blade to clear the makeshift sheath, the light of the day glimmered off the blood tinged, dinted and scratched blade. Resting the flat edge on his shoulder he moved away from the edge of the path and forward to examine the cart while keeping an eye on the treeline for someone to jump out. My turn minus the fluff: Thrug readies his sword and advances Southwest one (1) space and and West three (3) spaces. |

"We should not leave this poor person up to hang. Let's take her down, and bury her." Dru' walks over to the corpse, and cuts it loose. Then, she begins to bury it. S1 E4 N3 Dru' called out: It looks like there's no one here, again. Perhaps we should move on. Ooc: Ok, was I metagaming? |

"I think we should take her to town. Her relatives may want to bury her themselves." Jack attemps to remove the locket to see if there would be a clue there "i must say, I am limited on the doings of clerics, but is there something you can do to speak to her, rumil?" |

The half orc moved slowly over towards the cart, scanning the horizon for anything out of the ordinary. All seemed normal at first, but suddenly he saw a branch move. He stared closely, something was definitely hiding in the edge of the woods. At the same time, Dru moved towards the body to cut it loose. As she stepped beneath the body, she felt the ground give way beneath her. With reflexes as quick as a cat, she lept backwards and away from certain doom. ooc: Rolls made: Spot, Reflex Save Surprise Round Initiative: Thurg Goblin Initiative: Drusilia Thurg Rumil Goblin Jack Goblin
