"Finally I may again feel useful. Thank you for the lovely tour guide of the woods. I will rememeber the way out. I wonder, not would we like to do the whole "dark shadows" approach, or try knocking with Thrugs huge sword?" "And I really wish he wouldn't have went through the water, my feet are soaked."

Rúmil looked at Karl and shook his head. With a soft voice he answered, “No Karl, we no longer need your services. We appreciate the help you’ve provided, and would not ask you to continue the rest of the way with us. Fharlanghn asks that we each walk our own journey and your journey is to travel safely back to your cabin. Thank you kind sir, I hope in doing this we can help your townsfolk.”

Turning towards the others Rúmil could see Dru’s concern about what might transpire in the near future. Jack’s off-handed remark about his feet was nothing more than a means of allaying his own fears, or at least that’s what Rúmil suspected. Thrug on the other hand…Thrug seemed at peace, and portrayed no outward worry about the troubles they may soon face. If I could pick a broken wagon up by myself I probably wouldn’t be too worried either, Rúmil wryly thought to himself.

Quietly clearing his throat, Rúmil looked at each of his companions individually. With soft words Rúmil said, “I vote that we let Jack lead. He’s got the most skill of us all at staying quiet. I’ll follow, then I suggest Dru, and last but not least Thrug should bring up the rear. We should space ourselves out, and let Jack lead by about 40 feet or so, then each of the rest of us should be traveling about 5-10 feet apart. Once we close in on the mines then we group together, and let Jack lead, and Thrug and I can switch positions in the line to allow him quicker access to any enemies we may encounter.” While speaking Rúmil had picked up a stick and drew out his suggested formation of the group in the ground, pointing to each person as he indicated what their positions should be. He did this mainly for Thrug’s benefit but sometimes visual cues worked well with the others.

“Jack,” Rúmil added, “if you’re spotted before we make it to the mines, come back to us as quickly as you can. I don’t want to see anything happen to you, and if you can draw them towards us, then we might gain an element of surprise. In addition, it’ll be that much quicker that Thrug can bring his ‘unique brand of skill’ to the fight. And Thrug,” Rúmil motioned for Thrug’s attention and added, “Your job is simple in my plan for approaching the mines. As the rear-guard if something tries to flank us, you’ll be there to great whatever it is. If Jack brings company back to the group your job will be to incapacitate whatever enemy he managed to bring back. I’d like to take whoever/whatever alive if possible. But I understand sometimes that cannot be the case.”

“Dru,” Rúmil looked over to her and added, “I believe you will best serve in this approach as support. Use your abilities as you see fit, as only you know best. But don’t get too close to combat, should it erupt. Of course,” Rúmil said with a bit of a smile, “I don’t think I need to tell you this, but I figured it to be better safe than sorry. Besides, who else will I have to keep Jack in line if something happens to you?”

Looking at the group, studying their reactions to his suggestions, Rúmil asked, “So does everyone agree on my suggestion of approach? Or does anyone else have any ideas?”

"Sure." Dru' replied to Rumil. "Ill stay back and help you." "Though," Dru' said, "I can also help you right now." "I can cast a spell of light on one of you, though it wont last for long. Do you want me to?"
"Jack," Dru whispers, "I have a spell to make one of your weapons more accurate and deadly. Which do you want me to cast it on?" Then smiling, Dru reaches over to touch him, casting message on him.

((Magic weapon on a weapon of Jack's choice, and message on Jack.))

"Ok, so I'll scout and see what I can find." Jack looks at his array of...daggers, and decides on Buck. "I think this knife would work well for your spell."

(ooc: Did I get my bag of flower with a wick that I asked tilles for earlier?)

(ooc, I'm sorry, I missed that part of your post but since it was my mistake I'll assume that Tilles heard it since that is something they would have had and gave it to you.)

Stepping close to Jack, Dru' says, "This spell wont last very long. The best I can guess is that it lasts somewhere around a minute. Do you want me to cast it now?"

"Only a minute? I think you might want to save it then. I'm hoping to not be seen, and if I am I shant be staying around all that long."

Jack pulls out the bag of flour, and wick. He crouches on the ground, unstoppering his flask he takes a quick draw. Jack pours some of the contents of the flask into a small tip cup, and places the wick inside. He then pulls the wick out, and places part of it inside the bag of flour. While doing all of this Jack tells a bit of a story, "When I was younger I had the misfortune of cleaning out the grainery stacks. Well one I was running behind on my chores for the day...seeing as I was down by the lake with mary-lou, so I had to work late at night cleaning. It got really dark, and I decided to light a torch. It took an entire year for my eyebrows to grow back.

"Ok I'm ready. though Dru, if you had a spell that would allow me to set a fire faster that would be great."

(ooc: After all is said and done Jack will set off into the woods, and scout moving silently, hiding, and spotting)

OOC: He's making a bomb. Ask Fix to explain it to you tonight. I'm sure he's done so before. I thought everyone had done this as a kid. Ok, so maybe not everyone...what? Stop looking at me like that.

OOC: Packed flour, when applied with fire WILL create, in essence, a flash bomb. The burst has been known to set fires due to the fact that the explosion causes burning cinders to float around and catch flamables on fire. I remember doing this as a kid. Fun when you put an inquisitive mind and science together. I really should have a lab coat and a maniacal laugh. But alas I can't do a good evil genius laugh, so here I sit...doing desk work. *sigh*

Slowly and cautiously Jack made his way down the hillside, doing his best to keep himself hidden, he mimicked the moves and stride of the old man who had led them this far. The journey took him approximately 10 minutes and when he looked back up the hill that he had come from he could barely make out the glint of armor.

The entrance to the mine was relatively open, he observed from his hiding spot within the trees. A strong metal door was closed over what he assumed was the entry way. Several broken wheelbarrows and supplies littered the ground around the entrance and tracks were plainly seen all over the area near the entrance. Many of them seemed fresh.
