College should be a choice, made by the person going, not those around that person.

Hell, I spent eight years in college mainly because I didn't really want to grow up and didn't want to have my soul sucked out via the all-knowing corporate machine that I knew was waiting for me after college.

But I had a blast in college, don't get me wrong. I was taking all these classes that I wanted to take. I can't help the fact that my attention span isn't that much better than a goldfish's, so I kept changing majors.

For me, High School was 4 years that could have been better spent in college. But then, college I had to pay for, while HS I didn't. I think that was also a deciding factor for why I did so well in college. When it was my money I was spending (either from working or from student loans) I was a great deal more receptive aobut learning. I don't care for being in debt, and the very idea tends to keep my ulcer acting up. Kind of hard not to be in debt in this day and age, but I do my best. The only thing I have that's debt is my mortgage, and my truck (which will be paid off sometime next year).

But yeah, college isn't for everyone. Also, just because you go to college that doesn't make you any smarter than someone who hasn't gone to college. Each person is different, and learns through different means. I've met some real idiots that have graduated with high level degrees who were dumb as a box of rocks, and I've also known some very intelligent people who never spent a day in college. So yeah, to each their own.
When you're making an Adventure, remember to ask, "WWMPD" (What Would My Player's Do?) Then tailor your adventure around that.

Dave you really should go to college. Some day you're going to want to impress that woman with the corvette and she's just going to laugh at your delorean.

Then she'd be a stupid, stupid woman. And now I'm off to polish the Delorean and watch Big Trouble In Little China.
In my mind, it is that simple. But then, I'm simple minded. -Didge-

So I have to come in to tutor for an hour on Fridays. I've been sitting here the whole time without a person to tutor, although everyone else has someone to work with. It's not that I care per se, but it sucks to have to come in and waste gas (which has been holding steady at an ungodly $2.59 a gallon for the cheapest). Grrr.

I did, however, grab the thesis that a professor suggested I look at as a model of what a good thesis should be like. So far, I have had one thought about it: "Oh, yeah, I can do this."

It's like writing several graduate papers instead of one and linking them all together. Each chapter focuses on a particular aspect of the larger argument, and instead of having 10-20 sources you have something like 80. Big fucking deal. Once I get a good, solid idea about what to write on I can do all the rest; I have been doing such things for years, and doing them well. With any luck, it won't take me a year to do it, either. Once I get a good, approved topic I probably won't be able to stop myself.

I think I'm excited.
