When you play, are there certain items that your character always tries to have on them? Any special reasons why? I know that for me, my characters end up with fishing nets. They're able to catch food that's different than the standard road fare if there's a place nearby. The net can also be used in traps, or in desperation they can be thrown at foes. My characters also like to have rope on them. Just SOP. |

well, clothes backback, bedroll, waterskin, flint and steel, rope, then it's up to the character what he wants. |

The crowbar has been a staple in my pack for quite some time. I'm also a big fan of the manacles, though its not inportant to all my characters. |

alcohol. specifically, wine. from day one of my first character, i've always had some form wine, whether it a huge honkin' jug of 3 sp common wine to a 40 gp bottle of frostwine. which reminds me, my warlock's gonna need a bottle of drow spider poison wine. That's some good stuff.

Are there any alchemical items that you guys like to have on hand? I like thunder stones. Generally speaking, if we toss one of those around here it's because a player is in trouble. |

a tangle foot bag will be in the future. I'm really wishing I had one right now in an online campaign. |

alcohol. light a rag (i.e. a molotov cocktail) and you have an improvised alchemists fire. drink a ton of it, and you can make a deafening burp that acts as a thunderstone. or, you could just toss a bottle of it and it would act like a reverse tanglefoot bag, causing enemies to start slipping and sliding. or drink a ton of it and you'll be too wasted to be affected by poisons (antitoxins? who needs 'em?) god, what cant alcohol do?

Backpack, rope grapple hook, flint & steel, torch, waterskin, and at least 1 days trail rations, cuz you never know when the DM will think about food. In real life I'm always armed with a bottle opener, cuz you never no where there will be beer. |

A cloak, you can sleep on it, wear it, use it to keep the rain off you, and so much more. Maybe I should make a thread about that... |
