Falco stood slowly and whispered quietly to Akane, “Do not worry. I will teach you to follow your guide, but it seems we have other tasks that must come first.” Turning toward the guard Falco smiled, non-threateningly, and spoke louder, “I will gladly accompany you good sir, though I was not there to see those tracks myself. I do however have an interesting tale you might want to hear about my misfortunes and the bout of bad luck I had with some orcs though. Perhaps there is something that could be done regarding them?”
When you're making an Adventure, remember to ask, "WWMPD" (What Would My Player's Do?) Then tailor your adventure around that.

So, the gaurds were here to question her friends companions, about the tracks Arrhandir had found. Akane still did not trust them, but she would follow her friends, if they wanted to go.

"Yes, then I will come." Akane told the gaurd. Still very nervous, having very few good experiences with gaurds and the law in general Akane continued to scan for exits, and did not sheath her dagger.

At Mortwicks suggestion, Owen helped him arrange the room for their new guests. His mind raced, the last hour had been information overload. He sorely missed his home in Tash. He had to remind himself that his home now lay here and not in Tash.

Akane:

Something's wrong, something is really really wrong The voice of the half-Ogre pounded in Akane's head See how nervous that guard is, I can almost smell his fear!

Akane, Falco, Gray:

The guard, without speaking a word, escorted the group outside. They left the Golden Dragon, without having eaten, and crossed the marked. Outside, evening slowly set in. The merchants packing their wares, late customers trying to get their neccesities. Cobblestone ground, tall stone buildings. The group was led to the biggest building on the square, the one with two guards standing in front of it.

Once inside, a big hall. A double door on the far end, sober decorations. A balustrade on the second floor, with a double flight of stairs leading to it. Another two guards. One pointed at the weapons rack:
Please, no weapons are allowed beyond this point.

From the other side of the double door, a voice could be heared NO NO NO I will not have it! Do it again, and you .... the tallest tree is not high enough for the likes of you ....

The guards stood as if they heard nothing, ignoring the whole scene. When the party was about ready putting down their weapons, a guard came through the duble doors. His face red from anger. He spit on the ground and mumbled something to another guard, something about whores as mothers and unknown fathers.
said the fool, and he showed his suntanned teeth.

They are disarming us, and then want us to go through closed doors. Akane thought. He smells fear on the gaurd, so maybe it is a trap. But then, why is the gaurd ignoring the yells from inside? Is it a signal? It would not be good to go in there unarmed.

But how? They are watching us disarm. Akane thought about it, and realized something. My spear and dagger cannot be hidden, since they are obious weapons, but I can hide my sling.

Akane tied her sling around her left arm, and put her spear and dagger on the rack.
"Gaurd, can I keep my walking stick?" Akane asked the gaurd standing outside.

Falco set his impromptu two-handed club in the rack, and slid his shield from his back, adding it to the pile. He felt bad leaving such an inferior ‘weapon’ on the display however the guard had asked them to remove their weapons. A brief pang of a voice screamed at him not to abandon his weapon, lest he be in the same situation as he was with the Orcs. He quelled that voice with the discipline that he had learned and turned towards the guard who had just emerged from the double doors. With trepid anticipation Falco asked, “Is this perhaps the best time? Surely if someone is upset we can give an accounting of what we have seen in our travels at a later time.”

Falco wasn’t quite sure but he had suspected the answer before the guard even addressed them. From the stern look on the guard’s face he could see there was not another, ‘convenient’ time. He had faced the hardest challenges beset upon him during his time here, away from the Heartlands, and yet…he felt that they were but drops of water compared with the raging river he was about to face. Sighing, more to himself than realization of the predicament that they were in, Falco resigned himself to face that raging river. An adage one of the elders had mentioned to him before he left seemed to float in the back of his mind as he readied himself for the unknown. The words repeating over and over, amidst the other voices he had so long grown accustomed with.

All is as the spirits will allow it to be, follow your guide and learn what you can for there can be no other course, save that destined for failure.

When you're making an Adventure, remember to ask, "WWMPD" (What Would My Player's Do?) Then tailor your adventure around that.
