So I've made a Facebook group for Kismet's Dungeons and Dragons, since I've been on Facebook a lot lately. Check it out.

I added a different theme to the boards but didn't make it the default setting. The basic skin and look is orderly, if generic. You can change your view of the board by scrolling to the bottom of any page to the Choose a theme section. It has a drop down menu with two choices. You could also let me know if you think the new theme would make a good default. I like it, but then I'm biased.

Welcome to the boards! Feel free to bring up or respond to whatever you like. Right now it's just me around here, but I'm always up for talking about gaming. The vast majority of my friends are gamers or have been, and that's not just because I'm a geek. I don't know about you, but it seems to me that talking about gaming can be just about as much fun as doing it.

I've read your other posts and I'm wondering how long you've been gaming and which systems you play. And, do you run, or just play?

I moved a lot of topics around, collapsed some categories and added a new one. No posts have been closed or deleted, so everything's still here. I've also put in a request to have this place converted to the new Zetaboards, which has a lot of options I really like. Hopefully they'll be able to complete the conversion soon, and then this place is getting a complete redesign.

I realized lately that there are a number of things I've been wanting to put up and that they'll fit here best. This place still has a lot of use for me and certainly some nostalgic value. I've left it on its own for a long time, since I have it linked through all of my gaming sites, but it's always been most influenced by D&D. So I'm tying it in to my D&D site, which I've been updating more now that I'm running again.

I can say that writing here and for my web site(s) has made me a better player and DM. As long as that's still the case, I'll keep coming back.

If and when you ever stop by again, know that I wished you a very happy birthday full of fun and loot!

I'll be roasting up a leg of lamb this year. Not sure what I'm going to put with it, but I'll figure that out. I can't use too much in the way of spices since my mom's stomach is so particular, and I haven't much been in the mood to cook lately, but I love lamb. Who else is cooking? And whatcha makin'?

I'm buying myself the Silver Marches and probably some Changeling books for Christmas. What sorts of gaming things are on your list?

I hope all you folks who feel inclined to celebrate barbeque day - err, America's Independence Day - have a great time. It was damned hot on the 4th but I went to a friendly little get together in which dear friends cooked for me. And oh man, do I miss bratwurst! I didn't realize it till just then. It's like getting to Thanksgiving and remembering how much you miss fresh roasted turkey. I've been trying to steal a bit of me-time this weekend. My mom stayed pretty much the whole time so I didn't get much, but I was glad for the chance to make her happy.

I haven't even looked at gaming stuff the last few days. I want to approach it when I really want to, when I can do so in the spirit of fun rather than worry, and besides, I have video games to play.
