Kaash Tu Aise Aaye, Jaise Koi Dua...

I've seen some amazing documentaries recently: The Square - By Jehane Noujaim is based on the Egyptian revolution for the past 2.5 years and how everything is centered around Tahrir Square. I've never felt so emotionally invested watching a documentary... this is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen. For 3 years the same people are followed - going to Tahrir Square to protest, the problems with protesting, the pains of watching your friends die in front of your eyes. I definitely recommend watching it. Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream - By Alex Gibney. If you are interested in the growing gap of the wealthy and the poor in America then I most definitely recommend watching this documentary. It really just blows your mind on how this gap is wider than any American could imagine. It is focused on the private sector and is more leftist. Maxed Out by: James Scurlock is baed on American debt caused by the dependence on credit cards on how companies exploit people who do not even have funds to ever repay the debt that they take in. It's interesting because the desire of purchasing things and becoming dependent on funds can almost be seen to parallel to an addiction. It's extremely disturbing and almost a wake up call for all Americans to take control of their finances. Personally I wish high schools and colleges would make students watch this documentary and perhaps make students understand the consequences of taking on loans. |
