Hello boys and girls. I acquired a W3650, and when coupled with a Chimei CMV 221D monitor, I cannot get the setup to the native motor resolution using XP. It ran fine using Ubuntu, but I need window$ at work.

I have the latest and greatest intel driver for the onboard video, but it appears to not support this particular monitor. It is my understanding that this monitor is understood to be plug n' play for Vi$ta, but for the crap I can't get this machine to run this monitor at 1680 x 1050.

Any advice will be appreciated.

And I mean that.

Maybe windows didn't detect your monitor. I would mess around and try to get windows to recognize that monitor. Try re plugging it in or try to find a driver for it. Then re install the intel gma950 driver. I think it has to do with the generic monitor driver windows is using,is not showing that monitor as 1680+1050. Does it skip that resolution or just not go that high?

Thanks for the advice, 455olds.

I found the answer...
I was trying to upgrade/install the driver for the graphics (Intel Graphics Media Accellerator 950), but what was actually required was a driver upgrade for the mainboard (Intel 945GC Express) available at the Intel site. Windows wasn't reading the graphics adapter, and the driver was listed as generic.

Now we're up and humming.

Thanks!
