I read a little, and think a lot. I've come to the conclusion that Time is the fluctuation of energy states nothing more. I came to this from something I heard in a TED conference, "Computers don't see space, or geometry like we do, nor do they see time." (Paraphrasing). And that's true, computers don't see time, they merely react to pin conditions ie. fluctuations in energy states. The whole universe operates on this principle, it fluctuates energy states, because after all, what is the universe? All that is maybe? Despite not knowing, what we do know is everything forms from energy and that energy is always in flux./discuss |

Another brief flash of insight is the nature of time dilation. As velocity increases something has to give as is the nature of this universe, so entropy slows to keep the unit in balance. Maybe it's a crazy thought, I don't know. Could be all the Chef-Boyardee, who knows. |

I thought time is money....or is something that can be killed or wasted or spent or consumed. The Bible tell us that time can be redeemed. We can watch time fly, we have an allotted portion of it.........and some people have waaaay too much of it on their hands... |

The unemployed (like me ) often have too much time on their hands, you can only spend so much time each day looking for jobs. Once in Heaven, time is irrelevant but souls can be redeemed and they are of critical importance in getting to Heaven! Who was it that said in our universe, entropy tends to a maximum? Was it Newton? And what does it really mean? And is there really no in Heaven?

It's difficult to wrap your mind around. I have trouble envisioning it, but that's how the Wheeler-Dewitt seems to operate. It describes a universe without time, it just *is*. Like a computer, it's in flux and reactions to conditions that have everything to do with the flow of energy. |

After thinking (i.e.pacing back and forth )about this for Time for a bit this morning As I was waiting for my boys bus to show up.. I can answer the question of time TIME IS A STATE OF MIND is what I came up with Time is nothing more than our perception of it.. It is true that we can measure exact time with great accuracy.. Time is still how and what we as a people perceive time to be. Sometimes you can do drugs or your actions/circumstances will cause time to appear to slow down or speed up. This is a perception of time that is specific to an individual.. I believe that the very creation of time as we know it is what we think time is or should be. Off to bed before I go to school I guess.. Neil |
