OZ ... The Great and Powerful!!

Presidente' ObamaWama's stimulus package seems to have "unstimulated" Newegg's shipping process. They have gone from first to worst. It's either expensive instead of free or if it's free it circumnavigates the globe before getting delivered across the street! Too bad....the prices were always good...and if you could get a better deal...the best shipping of anyone would be the deciding factor. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?? |

Update: This free "EggSaver" shipping from Newegg is frightening now. Be careful if you need anything in a hurry. I used to get stuff on free shipping from their east cost DCs in 1 or 2 days. It was great. It just took the package 4 days to move from Tenn. to Kentucky. DHL Global mail.......oh my. I get stuff regular USPS priority mail from Cali. in just 3 days. Ohio just 2 days. I guess Newegg is overstimulated. |

Recently I ordered an 8gig Transcend SDHC card for my new Canon A590 and was surprised at how long it took to arrive. I did note that the package originated in NJ the went to TN and then back over to Pittsburgh, PA. Seemed like a 'round-about' way to get to me. |

I guess they're trying to save money. But this DHL Global mail uses the USPS as the final deliver point. I think. Which is fine....but their own system is a nightmare. Good luck. The Newegg warehouses that I know of are in Tenn, Cali and Edison, NJ...they also have some kind of cross shipment deal going on in Secaucus, NJ....but that may be some deal they have with UPS to pull direct from certain vendors. |

With all this overstimulation happening you must have missed the news that DHL is leaving (ie pulling out of) the US market. That may explain why you are experiencing unusual delays. I'm reminded of a line from some war movie, "pull out? Why that wouldn't be the manly thing to do..." responding to the suggestion that the US leave Vietnam before the war was won, kind of a premature withdrawl before complete satisfaction, leave it to Hollywood to come up with that! I ordered a 500gb external fantom HD two weeks ago from at 3-5 days ground and it arrived in 1 and 1/2 days.Your problem lies here "DHL Global mail" I used to work at the DHL centre of new england hub, and let me tell you it sucked. The job sucked, the people sucked, the managers where but the warehouse was shitty, dirty, not a healthy place to work, the low level employess did the sorting so shit got messed up quite a bit and ends up going to the wrong hub wich is why some packages take unlogical trips around the country. Ordering anything faster than normal shipping is a waste with DHL, no one gives a fuck about your package and if its labeled fragile handle with care the guy loading off the belt is probably gonna laugh and throw your package harder at the wall. Now this isnt all the time but quite often. And the stress and pressure you are under when working there is a bitch because the morale is very low due to the fact that the turnover rate is like 95% and everyday you come in to work at least 3 motherfuckers in your lineup decided to no call no show and never come back. The only thing that kept them afloat was the constant influx of jobless people coming in for 10.00/hr via temp agencies, but the actual hired employees only started off at 9.50/hr. And to top it off you come home and cough mad and blow your nose and look at the tissue and the shit looks like you wiped a chimney with it. Thats was why I quit. F that . Too unhealthy and unsafe of an environement. You're trying to move packages around and if you by chance don't lok both ways you get run the fuck over by some overworked madman in a forklift.

Yikes, d00de, glad to know you got out before it caused you any permanent harm or caused you to become a bitter old curmudgeon looking for any excuse to one day go postal! And thanks for the insight into why DHL may be leaving, good riddance!

On a final note: What beats DHL Global Mail from "Tenn." to New England from "California" to New England. Why the United States Postal Service ground...that's who....beat them by two days. 1stchoicememory.com out of Cali has some very inexpensive brand new memory if your system matches up correctly (512mb PC133 for 9.99 w/ free shipping). You can tell they walked it to the post office and put stamps on it....but hey it beats DHL Global mail and Eggsaver! |
