hello all
ive picked up a t1840 with a 1.8 ghz celeron cpu
the last e-machine i had was an amd
my question is there was a modded bios flash for my amd mobo which allowed me to squeeze a little more out of it
it was a 1.8 also and was able to get it up to 2ghz
this is an Intel mobo with a celeron cpu
will the same bios upgrade work with the intel system
it has a phoenix 6.0 bios
so did the amd mobo
i would like to know how to squeeze a little more out of this one if i can
any help wold be greatly appreciated
thanks

The BIOS from the AMD machine will NOT work on the intel machine.

The T1840 has a Trigem Imperial motherboard. The only way to overclock it is via a hardware mod. You also don't have many options for FSB speed, so you would have to run it at a 133MHz FSB which would run the CPU at 2.4GHz. If the CPU is stable at that speed, that is great, otherwise you are stuck at 1.8GHz.
